The Wheelhouse

Went to wheelhouse 29th June 2024 9.30pm ok busy brought a round of drinks in plastic glasses sat down to drink then abruptly told at 9.45 we are now shut take drinks and leave totally rude bar staff avoid if you want drinks after 9pm never been treated like this anywhere in Cornwall ps don’t think I would go back much better places around 🙁

Great location but the positives stopped there. Room was very dirty- black mould in the shower, dusty room, carpet looked filthy.

Fantastic chicken burger and shrimp poe boy. Lovely staff. Definitely worth a visit. Doggy friendly too. Thanks for a great lunch. Everything was freshly cooked. Nothing frozen here. Looked after the pooch too. Great view over the harbour a real suntrap.

We ate in the wheelhouse, the food was absolutely superb. The staff were very attentive and the chef came and spoke to us to ensure we were enjoying the food. If you like burgers then the injection burgers are a must to try. Will most definitely be visiting again.

Excellent stay. Room was lovely decorated, nice and fresh . Bed was comfortable. Amazing views from the room . House keeping every day , fresh bed, towels , tea , coffee etc. great location. The only one down side was the filling of the kettle , very small sink but we soon got round that using the shower so no hassle .

It you fancy something a bit different but delicious visit this charming harbour front restaurant. Beautiful decorated with a cosy feel. Sit and enjoy the views. Thought and care has gone into the menu's producing wonderful tasting food served by staff waiting to please.

Well what can I say, gorgeous setting right on the harbour. The staff are fantastic and have great knowledge of the area. I had the chicken burger and the chilli peanut butter sauce really compliments the burger and not something I've had before. Will definitely be sampling the other burgers and food! Cocktails look amazing also and will also be sampling those over the warmer months, get yourselves down as you are in for a treat! Hats off to Kai the chef for a great menu.

Location is right on the harbor, beautiful views of a small but lovely fishing village. Room was surprisingly big, well decorated with an excellent bathroom. Enjoyed painting of harbor which was an exact match to looking out the window! Mevagissey has very little parking and narrow streets, but parking is provided about 200 yards away so it's an easy walk.

Mevagissey is a lovely place and the Wheelhouse is in a prime position, but they text you on the morning you go and tell you they don't do breakfast, which you pay for in the price of the room, plus the restaurant is closed, which they told us on the day, yes there are other restaurant's and better places to stay which don't falsely charge you for a service that you pay for, so look at decent and truthful B&B's close by and avoid this place.

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. The room that we stayed in was lovely and cosy, nice bed linen and furnishings and very clean and comfortable. Car parking was just a short walk from the wheelhouse and was free, but you could park in front of the property to load and unload luggage. The best thing though, was the view of the harbour from the bedroom window. Weather was wet, windy and rough while we were there, but it was incredible to watch from the window. Have only given four stars instead of five because the building itself, outside of the rooms, felt like it needed some TLC, but that wouldn’t stop me from staying again. Thank you 😊
