The B&B was a bit tied but the new owners (full of enthusiasm) have plans to revamp. I would like to see the place in 12 months. Easy walk to local pub and good food. The host was more than happy to arrange take away orders if you wanted to eat in.
The reception I received was very good. The room was as I expected The breakfast was good.
Needs a makeover. We were in a chalet at the rear of the main building. It was like going back to the 80’s. A well used saggy bed, didn’t sleep a wink. Room stuffy, no air con, dated bathroom & cobwebs everywhere.
For the price it’s reasonable. There were quite a few cobwebs in the room, giving the impression that the place needed a good deep clean. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and the breakfast was nice enough.
It was fine, nice size room and handy parking. Just a shower no bath which was a pity. Very basic breakfast no fruit or yoghurts.
We had a good late deal at the Preston, and stayed in one of the upstairs rooms in the main building. The place is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean, and the carpets, soft furnishings and bathroom suite were all new. We were pleased that the hospitality tray included sachets of decaff coffee! Our only complaint is that even with the window shut there was some traffic noise, and rooms at the back of the main building or in the rear annex would be quieter. There was no problem getting a space in the car park at the rear of the building, even after driving into Yeovil in the evening to eat as we thought it was further than we wanted to walk. Breakfast was standard cooked breakfast with a good choice of items, as well as cereal, toast and juice.
Ok stay. Old fashion motel style. Key in the door and room number advised as not reception till bar opened at 4.00pm. Parking, wifi good and good breakfast. It was a bed for the night nothing more.
Not what I was expecting at all. The first room I was given was a ground floor room with a dodgy lock. The room was dirty and full of cobwebs. On asking, the lady on reception kindly allowed me to change to an upstairs room. This room was better and more secure however there was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and dirty marks on the walls. The room was also very hot which made it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was lovely however staff conversations could be overheard from the kitchen.
