Old fashioned hotel with helpful staff and a decent breakfast. Parking to rear of hotel by a side access lane.

For a place to stop, wash and get your head down and start off again in the morning with a Full English, it's a reasonable place to stay. For the added extras that you come to expect it is poor, the WiFi signal was poor, but that didn't matter as the password wasn't recognised. Bathroom was basic, with scalding hot water, but the cold tap in my room failed to work, so had to top up using a leaky shower head. No evening meals are done at this hotel, so either a 10min walk down to the nearby 'Hungry horse' pub, or a choice of take-away menus behind the bar which deliver.

Staff were very welcoming although didn't appear to know the area? Got the impression that they were new owners? Rooms were very clean but tired looking - they look a lot better on the website. Excellent breakfast

Definitely not a 3 star hotel, only if I don't know what a 3 star is. It's more of a motel and okay for if you are looking for a place to just pass the night and not in need of any frills or thrills. I feel hotel was overrated so I expected a lot more, otherwise its just a normal comfy place to pass the night.

We had to kill the spiders before we could settle into our rooms. Later we realized we only got the advance guard, the rest of the spider cavalry followed over the next 5 days. On day 2, when my wife and daughter had had enough of the English breakfast, I asked if they could just put two English breakfasts on one plate. Maxine said, “Maybe I can give you an extra sausage, but that’s it.” To get fresh towels and toilet paper we had to ask. On the fourth night I asked a guy at reception. He got a ‘deer in the headlights’ look, and called Maxine at home. I found them myself. He said it was his first night, and they left him alone with no training. On day 5, I went for breakfast at 8am. Anne told me they had a lot of guests, and she’d get to me later. I decided to come back. Later she told me the same thing. The third time, we came back my wife asked how it was going. Anne gave a big theatrical sigh, and complained about being short staffed and how hard her job was. A cleaner told me Anne had just quit, today was her last day. Finally, there was no WI-FI. On day 1 I asked Maxine about it and was told, “Someone’s looking into it.” By day 5 no one had ‘looked into it’. A cleaner asked me what I was doing sitting in the car park with my computer. I explained that I needed WI-FI and this is where I could connect, but that I had been assured that, “Someone was looking into it.” She laughed and explained that this is just what they told customers, it had been that way for years.

Room clean and comfortable, staff friendly good breakfast would certainly recommend to others.

A fair walk from town in a little out of the way area on the main road. Was given a family room in the annexe at the back for the main building. Checked in quickly in a friendly manner. (can only check in between 16:30 and 22:00). The room wasn't huge but adequate had three beds. Bathroom a little tired with odd components rusting, but clean. Room had free parking outside and was quiet. Comfortable bed. Bathroom only seemed to have shower gel, no soap or shampoo, but had our own so not a problem. Breakfast was included. Limited choice, juice, tea or coffee, cereals or toast followed by choice of bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms and tomato's. Friendly, fast service and perfectly adequate. Taking into account price must be considered as excellent value. Would certainly stay again.

Nice hotel with super reasonable prices. Bed really comfortable, decent size tv, good selection of breakfast stuff, friendly staff and free parking. Will stay there again.
