Easy access, good car parking, comfortable but dated room

Great as a B & B

Staff very friendly. Accommodation clean and tidy bed very comfortable. Only downside was the cooked breakfast I asked for no beans and got them and it was extremely greasy. Would happily stay again.

Would have been nice to know there was painting going on. Check in wasn't the most efficient, staff generally friendly. Room dark and in need of a refurb

Beds a little worn and there was staining on the carpet, but bathroom was clean and staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Is it so hard to clean rooms properly? Disappointing tidiness! However Good location, pleasant staff. Noise all night from the other room’s ventilation fan.

I understand that new Owners have just taken over so will attempt to give the benefit of the doubt. Met at reception with a 'yes' given the wrong room and kept waiting. My eventual room was very nice. Bar was not manned in the evening, I went out to dinner, came back just after 10 and the bar was closed. Breakfast service was dreadful nobody to serve, eventually several of us became impatient tried calling from the bar area and ended up banging on the door, when breakfast did come it was not very nice and TBH the breakfast staff could have done a lot with appearance. First and last visit to this hotel which is a shame as its the perfect location for my fortnightly visits.

A unique property. My party (3 persons) arranged to meet at the hotel, even though it was a few hours before checkin. The cleaning lady (I beleive) gave us the key to the room. We stayed in the 3 bed family room. Room was clean and had an unusual layout. Beds were all very soft (VERY soft), and some floorboards seemed unsafe underfoot, particularly by the bed in the annex. The hotel was mostly empty when we stayed, but we could hear the other guests -presumably our group was heard too. Dissappointed that on the day we went the bar was.closed with no notification - we returned to the hotel intending to order takeout and have a few drinks in the bar -as suggested on the hotel blurb - only to find everything closed up.

The only positive from my stay is that the member of staff I spoke to on the telephone before my arrival was very accommodating. It is not of any consequence that the place is worn, tired and in need of refurbishment. What is worthy of note is that I did not feel at all comfortable during my stay for the following reasons - The hotel was in complete darkness with locked front doors when I arrived back at the hotel at around 7:30/8:00 on the evening of check in with not a soul around. I had planned to have a drink and a bite to eat before going to my room. The only person around was a chap trying to break into the cigarette butt box immediately outside my room, who once he'd gathered the cigarette butts he could use, proceeded to sit on the bench in the carpark. Although he was not threatening, it made me feel very uncomfortable. There was no glass in my room so I went in search of one in the breakfast room of the main building. The first three glasses I picked up were dirty with marks and particles stuck to the glass. If they had been washed then it was surely in dirty water with dirty hands. The teaspoons in my room had obviously not been washed as they both had marks in the bowl of the spoons clearly from where coffee/tea had been stirred and a pool of liquid was left in the spoon when it had been put down. I can only guess that the spoons were wiped and not washed. There was debris on my room floor from the previous occupant. I did not stay for breakfast.

Very clean comfortable room..excellent value for money. We would definitely stay again.
