The Gables Guest House

The staff were all very friendly, breakfast was lovely ,the room had tea ,coffee facilities, hair dryer ect and the room was nice and clean , the location was absolutely perfect, with lovely view of the church and the green.

It wasn't a massive problem but just didn't like the fact that the bathroom sink was outside of the bathroom in the room.

Beautiful stay! We were greeted by Rohan upon arrival, who showed us to our rooms and patiently waited for us to confirm if the room was okay. Breakfast was full English - delicious, and service staff were kind and friendly. I highly recommend staying at The Gables for all the kindness we received, and it's also really close to the co-op/restaurants/hiking trails! Perfect!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Gables Guesthouse! We stayed for 2 nights and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The owner was incredibly welcoming, showed us around, and even let us check in 2 hours earlier, which we really appreciated. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and on our last day, they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage before our evening train — such a thoughtful touch. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the whole house had such a warm, cosy, and beautifully decorated feel. Everything was very comfortable and felt like home. We especially loved the beautiful themed paintings in the room and around the guesthouse. A lovely place to stay in Ambleside — we would happily come back again!
