The Gables Guest House

Location perfectly for access to the town and fells. Property and room were as described. Breakfast was good. Limited parking at the property, however, amble parking at main town car park which is just a 5min walk away, via the park.

This is a bright clean and comfortable place to stay. The people who work here are welcoming. It is clean comfortable and the breakfast is good.

I have no thoughts about any criticism at all.

Great value, great location and lovely staff

Excellent quiet ish position, next to the park and church. Round the corner from pubs and restaurants. Rohan the proprietor was charming and everything was relaxed and comfortable. Even has ice and glasses for you use.

We possibly had one of the smaller room. Had everything we needed, if we stay again we’ll ask for something bigger.

The location was fantastic, with views overlooking the park, church and mountains.

We stayed in room 2 and the shower was not what I expect for a room over £150+ a night. The shower head was of a really poor, basic standard and basically trickled out water that was the equivalent of standing under a tap … not what you want after a long day of walking. There are also no curtains in this room and the blinds are thin and light, which meant we were abruptly woken at 5am (or sunrise), so not great for relaxing or catching up on sleep whilst on a break.

The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and the breakfast excellent. The staff were very helpful and the location ideal.
