Fairfield by Marriott Sapporo

This is the worst ever service at a Marriott establishment I have been to in the world! The reception can barely communicate in English and all the Marriott perks apparently do not apply here. Arrived at 14:15 and although we were Titanium Elite and Ambassador members we were told we cannot check in until 15:00 although the hotel was half empty. We tried to at least complete the pre registration process and were told they cannot swipe the card until 15:00!! Although there were absolutely no clients coming in or leaving my suitcase was in the way of ….. no one and was asked to move it… Breakfast is very poor and mostly catered towards Japanese clients. If you can avoid this bad hotel I recommend you find an alternative solution

A humble Fairfield with an extravagant breakfast offering. The breakfast has a lot of options of local offerings and it even has a map. It’s only given for one day as a platinum benefit and is not given across all of your stays. That being said i enjoyed it enough that I would pay for it. All the hotels in Japan are expensive now but I managed to get a reservation here at a reasonable price before it sold out. The rooms are small and everything is fairly modern. The front desk sometimes had people who spoke English but google translate is something you may have to rely on at later hours.

She handle the check in efficiently and accurately. In pre arrival and staying stage, Asuka responded to my request and inquiry in a professional way. Also, Mr 松浦 who in Valet parking are nice and assist us during the stay Moreover, housekeeping team also are very good when assist make up room during the stay. Room is spacious and well designed and with a nice view. Much appreciated the coffee corner for Marriott Bonvoy member which refresh my day. Hope the hotel keep doing well.

Clean and comfortable. Good location to the centre of Sapporo.

Absolutely zero option for early check in which was a bit terrible after a long day of travel. Parking is also very limited and costs extra on top of the accommodation price per night.

Restaurant facilities closed so early that they really were not restaurants but snack bars. Very difficult to settle up checking out. Desk staff couldn’t understand that we shouldn’t be charged for breakfast since we didn’t sign up for it and we were leaving before restaurant opened.

Though not exactly a 5-star luxury hotel, it is modern and cosy. The lobby and the restaurant are not large, but the decor is quite pleasing. The buffet breakfast offers more than adequate choices. You feel comfortable staying here. The hotel is in town centre and is close to shopping and food.

Stayed here for a few days as it was my first time in Sapporo. About a 15 minute walk from the main train station. 5 minute walk from the Susukino area where there’s plenty of restaurants, izakayas and night clubs. The room provided was in the corner. It felt like it was larger than your typical Fairfield Inn room. The heater was quite effective to the point I had to leave the windows open. My stay didn’t include breakfast, which was a bummer. I saw the spread and it looked fantastic. I would’ve payed for breakfast on my own, but the price was a little too steep for what it’s worth. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Sapporo.

Nice modern 4 star hotel, which seems to have been entirely refurbished. Nice breakfast at 2200yen pp. Rooms are small but functional and are better than web pics suggest. Recommend the higher floor rooms as you then get views over other buildings and some faraway mountains, Very well located near fresh seafood market, the posh shopping street etc. Negative point is that the restaurant is only open till 6 pm and only serves hot dishes till 230pm; after that, only afternoon tea items are served. In winter Sapporo is snowed under and icy cold. So it can be challenging to find a restaurant in the evening. Those nearby are small and all close early.
