Slack Cottage

This hidden gem is a delight to have stayed in. Chris is an author and knowledgeable. about the Lake areas. He offered us a lot of good suggestions and we were blessed with great weather for long walks to Hawkshead. Thank you Liz and Chris for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We take back many happy memories wiyh us.pp

The rooms are on the upper floor and we had to carry luggage upstairs...but the views of the autumn colours and the Windermere Lake made up for the small inconvenience.

Very comfortable bed and a wonderfully freshly cooked breakfast. Very homely and lovely location. Chris and Liz are wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome.

Very hard to fault.

The cooked breakfast was delicious. also a range or cereals and and yogurt available. The room was beautiful with a very comfortable double bed... I slept so well. very quiet and the view from my bedroom window was exceptional with view looking directly onto lake Windermere, absolutely stunning to wake up to. The cleanliness the whole property was great it felt warm clean and above all... I felt relaxed and at home!! My hosts, Liz and Chris were incredibly welcoming and polite. They gave me great advise about the lake where I wanted to go paddleboarding, places to walk and where I could go to eat at such short notice.

There is nothing about my stay that I found as a negative.

As we were racing a bath would have made it perfect but the shower was good. Maybe a more accessible power socket close to the bed would make it easier to charge devices.

We loved Slack Cottage, it was quiet and a very serene location. A lovely view of Lake Windermere with a lakeside walking track close by. Liz and Chris were lovely hosts. We would love to come back.

Little off the beaten track, winding lanes, but views on arriving were stunning..
