"Great stay"

8.0

Loved my short stag here. Relaxing place with great staff. Rooms where really nice and the breakfast was fantastic. The only negative thing I could say is that the check in at 3pm was a bit late. But would defiantly stay again.

"Overpriced although food was good."

6.0

Room was large but dark and hot with no air conditioning. Only one bedside lamp, although another was supplied on request. Lovely areas for sitting outside but all tables needed a wipedown and a bit of a tidy-up. Room was fine but over priced at £125 per night

"Great countryside getaway"

10.0

Have stayed here several times, the rooms are very nicely done out, comfy bed, big shower, very quiet area. The pub is lovely, unfortunately I didn't get to use it as was straight out to a party, the beer garden looked very inviting in the sunshine. The food is very good with a good choice on the menu. I had my bike with so is easy to put in the room, actually saw another resident with theirs padlocked outside the room and is so quiet it would be safe. The table and chairs outside the room allow for a nice al fresco wine in the evening or coffee in the morning.

"Good Hotel but Poorly Implemented Technology"

6.0

Very nicely appointed rooms and the pub was lovely. Food was good however I could not connect any external input to the TV which I do at nearly all other hotels I stay in. Also the TV was mounted very high on the wall. The internet was not very good in the room either which was a bit painful.

"Disappointing Stay"

4.0

The Hotel room was not as advertised in my opinion. The bed was comfortable it has to be said but after that it goes downhill. The door to the room which opens out on to the garden needed replacing with a more secure one, the opening window was too low and a higher one required, the wet room tiles were of good quality but poorly fitted, the hideous mirror was too low to see anything but the floor. The shower was very unsatisfactory and difficult to use to get a good temparature. After having a shower to whole room was wet! The TV in the bedroom was so high it left you with a crick in your neck. The location was in the garden of the hotel and the path to it was strewn with tree droppings under which were uneven slabs. We came away feeling overcharged and dissatisfied.

"Great character country pub/hotel."

6.0

We paid a premium rate for our stay there but it was the time of the Henley regatta so perhaps this was the reason. The hotel is lovely and a great location for Henley and surrounding areas. We were however a little disappointed with a few things. The staff were very friendly however not always very attentive. It was sometimes difficult to find a member of staff when you wanted one. We ordered lunch in the the beer garden on the afternoon that we arrived and I very politely asked the bar man if he could clean the table (as it was grubby and sticky) . This was met with a look of distain and he very reluctantly did so. I thanked him very much but he did not even acknowledge me. The weather was extremely hot when we were there and there was no air conditioning in the room. Perhaps not possible the install due to the age of the building however it made the room very uncomfortable at times. There was a portable fan in the cupboard, which was full of dust and very noisy. Also it would have been nice to have had a couple of bottles of water in the room. All that said, the venue is lovely and has lots of character and is in a great location. My comments are related to the fact that for what we paid we would have expected the service to be of a higher standard.
