The Crown at Playhatch

Really enjoyed my stay, I was well looked after from the moment I arrived. The guy who checked me in carried my bag to my room for me, booked a table for dinner and made sure I was looked after during my stay. I'm glad I chose to stay at a smaller establishment for this trip, compared to larger hotels, as I do think if you find the right place you'll be better off. I would certainly recommend and plan to stay here again if I'm ever in the area again.

Lovely stay in February following a gig in Reading the night before. We were looking for a cosy country pub and The Crown was quaint, beautifully decorated, good but not intrusive service with excellent food. My husband said the black beast steak was amazing. Great wine selection and breakfast of eggs benedict was great. A couple of small things, the cosy fire was not lit which would have been nice. The room was immaculate and absolutely stunning to look at. However the pillows were very light, toilet roll was cheap and to get the shower powerful it had to be cold. Given the quality of everything else, I felt this let it down a bit. However I would definitely stay again if in the area.
