Lake Lodge Motel

The views of the park and lake were great, but unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there. The room was large and well appointed. The queen bed was very nice, but the pull-out bed for our daughter wasn't fit for an adult (uncomfortable).

Pretty good location, within walking distance to the lake as well as a lot of eating places. Room is clean with a well-stocked kitchenette. So it's pretty decent for a motel. Main gripe I have about this place is that it's pretty overpriced at NZD230 per night for a motel. Security can be said to be non-existent as anyone can walk in and the office leaves all the keys to the rooms easily accessible for anyone. Also a bit weird is that they didn't put bedsheets on the bed, just 2 layers of mattress protectors...

Very happy with this place, good location will be even better when works along the waterfront are finished. Host friendly and helpful. Will certainly consider again when visiting the city.

Our family of 3 stayed in Lake Lodge Motel for 3 nights over Labour weekend in 2022. Booked at the very last minute. Called the owner directly to check and confirm availability, he is a very pleasant person to deal with. Room #13 that we stayed in, is upstairs with lake views, newly refurbished, clean and surprisingly quiet. Separate toilet and a spacious bathroom with ever so soft high pressure shower. Well equipped kitchen, quiet clean fridge. Spacious room, comfortable double bed, great pillows. WiFi present. Heated pool with filtered thermal water, so it doesn't smell of sulphur. Plenty of parking space. Excellent location, meters from large playground for children, lake, walking distance to Eat Street and city centre. Turning left from the motel takes you towards sports and activities such as Skyline Luge, Paradise Valley, zorbing, maze and many more. I would definitely recommend this reasonably price accommodation and would happily stay there again.

The check-in staff was great. Room was huge! You will love being across the stress from the lakefront and so close to Eat Street for dining options. We would definitely book here again.

It was really nice, clean and tidy. I think it was renovated🙂 and close to park and 1min walk to bar and restaurant and also close to the town, so its good for kids, and adults both🙂🙂🙂
