Convenient unfortunatly pool was out of commision, and they were undergoing some building issues. Rooms and lobby had a poor smell

Man, this hotel smelled bad, like damp and not clean. Honestly our room wasn’t bad it was the most pleasant part, but the elevator didn’t work, the pool looked like a wasteland, worked for a one night stay but would not recommend for anything you want to be “nice” which is too bad because the location is great and felt like good be a nice hotel if it got whipped into shape.

Pros: first impression was good as far as appearance and cleanliness were concerned. Hotel reception staff were prepared for our group for a family reunion weekend and checking in was easy. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Cons: The swimming pool was not operational at all during our stay and from reading other reviews had been out of order since the first of the year.???? This was definitely a downer as the kids were looking forward to this activity. Found this out too late to make other hotel arrangements for our large group. The elevator was a hit and miss, one relative was stuck on there for a little while and was pretty upset. Walking up and down the stairs ( 3 floors) was not something our elderly family members had anticipated having to do, but quite often had to be prepared to do. Made many complaints to desk staff, but to no avail.They just made excuses but we never saw a repairman or anyone come to service elevator. Nor did we ever see anyone working on pool area. You would think that after 6 months they would have had this taken care of. There occasionally was a sewer type odor that permeated through the first floor and on the elevator (when working). If not for these major problems I might consider coming back here, but I doubt it.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. We come to the area to do some shopping.And this place is very close to where we like to go. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times.

Enjoyed my stay

The afternoon when I walked in there was used exercise equipment placed outside the entrance to the hotel. The lobby check in area had circulation fans blowing everywhere to help with the AC not working and also to remove a horrible smell in the area. Upon checking in, the room had a smell of wet dogs throughout the time I was in the room. Upon looking for ice, I found the half used machine not in service, I had to search the entire hotel before I was directed to an area behind some machines. The pool was closed by the local Health Department, and half drained, with items floating on the water. I stayed out of the room as much as possible until I had to sleep, the bed was fine, but the humidity in the room was unbearable. I showered and left as soon as possible the next morning.

The hotel had fans everywhere, I assume from some kind of flood or a plumbing issue that affected the entire hotel. The pool was shut down and the rooms smelled really bad. The shower in the bathroom was rusted and they used air freshener to try to cover the musty smell.

Pool which was the biggest reason we chose this hotel, has been broken more than 6 months, has Dept. Of Health sign on it. Tub faucet and shower head filthy and handle broken. Hall way hot. Weird smell. People just hanging out in front... felt unsafe.. stay away
