Base Airlie Beach Resort - Hostel

The place was big and spacious and right in the heart of airlie. But I had a situation with my bag in their storage room. However they did upgrade me to compensate for it.

Good people and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen was good but needed to be more hygienic.

The set up of Base in Airlie Beach is really nice but it is let down by the staff and the cleanliness. The guy on check thought he was funny but was just inappropriate and quite honestly arrogant. My sheets were stained so I had to use my sleeping bag liner and the bathroom was also really dirty. When travelling all I want is a nice welcome and a clean bed. You can definitely get more for your money in this quaint little town if you go somewhere else.

Nice location with lovely staff & facilities however the bathroom wasn’t clean at all with peoples hair, dried toothpaste etc. Just wasn’t clean and made me not want to use it. Also had no sleep due to another person within the dorm bringing someone else back to the room! I thought this was against the policy?

Please bare in mind that my experience was tarnished when my Raybans went missing from the ‘safe’ behind reception ‘that only staff can access’. Massively effected my stay at Airlie Beach as I then had to spend time looking for new sunglasses! Despite a member of staf possibly being a thief the lady that I dealt with & the manager were very apologetic & keen to resolve the issue. Currently still waiting on cctv outcome to determine what actually happened to my original pair of glasses!

cheap rates, rooms where showing there age but for the price you really can not complain. Over all im happy with my stay and would stay again.

Expensive for a very disappointing room and ammenities. Would not stay there again or recommend it to others.

Excellent location within walking distance of all major sites plus rooms far enough away from main strip so quiet. Key cards too sensitive had to get redone about once a day. 4 person room was large but alot of small ants about.

Really good room size with en suite and in a good location. Always a queue at reception, very noisy air con, tiny kitchen, WiFi a bit slow and you have to get cutlery and plates from reception. Also, room hadn’t been cleaned or beds changed and had to ask a few times for it to be changed. Also more expensive than other ones nearby. The best thing was the big room size, hostel appearance and the location.

The 4beds room is great apart from an old ac, which is very noisy. No nives in the kitchen and not instructions provided upon arrival. Apart from that the lication is great and you can easily sleep at night.
