Stayed for a week in the Scantuary room, which was cool! It had a kitchen in the room with a fridge, which was a plus as the main kitchen wasn't great and only two fridges for the whole camp so were packed! Great location and good bar, bonus with the free pool table!!!
Very good! really enjoyed the free pool and the bar that they had!
My sister and I stayed 2 nights at Base, it was a really handy location on the main street with all the cafes and restaurants. It was a 10 minute walk to Abell Point Marina where our day trip to the Whitsundays departed. The room itself was fairly average but the beds were clean and it was an easy place to stay. Airlie Beach is a lovely beachside town with a fun and happening vibe.
A real backpackers experience. Can't fault the nice staff but room was filthy, with plenty of bugs for the lizards to feed on. Some fixtures broken including the bed. And it's truly a noisy party atmosphere. I guess if you're passing out drunk you wouldn't notice but otherwise couldn't recommend.
Good money for value, do not expect the luxury of a 4 stars hotel, but I would indicate to my friends.
We arrived and went to our room to find one queen size bed and two bunks very dark and lold nog like ghe photos. no table or chairs no tv very old air conditioner didn't woek very well. Only a kettele and two cups for a drink no toaster very inadequate. When questioned we were told the buget unit did not have the same facilities as the queen deluxe. This was not in the add on the web. We handed back he key and proceeded todrive to owen for the night.
Accomodation was of a poor standard, more for backpackers who are willing to put up with a flea pit.
"Luxury of a resort at backpackers prices" what an absolute joke. We stayed in a private double which had hairs and dust everywhere, dirty bed sheets and towels, ants all over side boards, mouldy shower/shower curtain and a constantly dripping shower. The curtains were too small so we had to hang spare bed sheets for some privacy. Everytime someone turned a tap on in our block, there was a God awful mechanical vibrating noise, which was especially disruptive whilst sleeping. Security of baggage and valuables was laughable, if only our security was treated with as much concern as the tables and chairs outside are tied the walls with metal wire. Swimming pools were closed, but probably for the best as it looked like they were home to a number of diseases! Most of the staff were extremely rude and should not be front of house! We may be staying in a hostel and you may just be working for free accommodation but there is no need to be so churlish or treat us with such disdain! We were also overcharged because we paid by card, which would have been fine had we been advised of this before the payment was processed! The above are just a few reasons why I would recommend you avoid like the plague!
