Unquestionably the best for money Complete convenience with own restaurant and bar More suited for back packers and younger crowd
a very good hostel for sleeping and your base necessities , some cracks in door frames and windows allow for bugs to be in rooms and no comforters for our bunk beds made it cold for sleeping but we had kitchenette kettle and ensuite bathroom it was awesome. 10 mins walk to port 5 mins walk to beach amazing location. would recommend !
Very poorly managed facility: internal processes for checkin, housekeeping, maintenence, etc need review. I stayed in a 4 bunk bed dorm in a 2 storey building that was dated. The room was not clean, nor was the completely bare kitchenette. The bathroom was mouldy and the white bath came with its own black mould colony. The only and I mean only thing going for this zero star hovel is it's cheap. My room even came with its very own alcoholic hobo. If your expectations are for just a mattress and you can ignore everything else this is the "resort" for you.
Checked in for 2 nights over New Years. Price was quite expensive for what we got, but the time of year you had to expect it. Paid $160 a night for a queen bed, mind you the room was a private room, not shared or a dorm. At first the receptionist could not find our booking, but they said it wasn't their fault, it was Wotif's fault because they didn't send the booking through. In result of this we had our room down graded as the original room we booked wasn't available. The room was still very tidy and clean, bathroom was clean and hygienic to a good standard. The room overall was great, Just lacking a bigger tv and kitchen utensils such as knives, forks, spoons, bowls, plates, cups. The down under bar is a good place to go for a drinks and right next to the hostel. Good atmosphere and a good crowd of people. Lots of fun. Stay was good overall. Would recommend staying here if on a budget.
Overnight stay after my trip on the Anaconda 3 finished. The 6 bed dorm room was fine - enough space for beds, but luggage storage was pretty limited for some beds (no lockers in the room). Mattress and linen were nice, comfortable. Shower was leaky but hot. No toilet paper by 5pm (double roll holder, so housekeeping were clearly slack that day). Check in and out were fairly quick, and the staff I dealt with were lovely.
We had just spent 5 nights at the resort on Day Dream Island, so we were expecting a real come down but it was great. Quiet room in block of 4 old units. No kitchen but had fridge and kettle. Great deal on free arrival drink and cheap meals at the pub.
The price of this hotel was quite cheap and I guess we got what we paid for. Location was amazing close to everything. Room wasn't too bad, very bare with only the necessities. No towel racks or clothing racks in wardrobe. No cupboards in kitchen all boarded up. The bed was reasonably comfortable but on closer inspection under the mattress protector there was a lot of dust (I hope it was just dust), grit and may be dirt. which was very disappointing. it was even on top of the mattress protector under the sheet. I looked for bedbugs and couldn't say whether they were there or maybe this is what was left. The door between the connecting room is very thin and we could hear the people next door as if they were standing right in our room, whilst the wall between the kitchen and the room next door was thicker and no noise travelled.
My partner was a bit unsure about staying at a back packers. We were pleasantly suprised how good the rooms were. The resort is CLOSE to every thing. Even tough there is a night club it is far enough away you don't hear a thing. Only complaint my chips were cold when we ate at the restaurant and no beetroot on hamburger. Don't be put of by the title of back packers.
Our booking - 12 women. Hotel only suitable for backpackers, & only if they like that kind of environment. Disgustingly filthy place. Our unit had not been cleaned properly, housekeeping staff were efficient & friendly by were not dressed appropriately. Toilet & shower not hygienic, shower curtain - filthy. I believe general casual housekeeping staff are backpackers. The unit only had beds, no fridge, no cooking facilities. Wanted to have BBQ outside but it was absolutely filthy. Rubbish around grounds. No outdoor seating on our patio.
a well placed accommodation with easy beach access and efficient tour desk
