Base Airlie Beach Resort - Hostel

Only stay here if you are 18 and under or a party animal very noisy at night car parking is poor the other guests have no respect for other people who try to sleep here even though there is not booze aloud past a certain point. cheap and nasty indeed

Obviously the managements tight! Place is staffed by backpackers who are just kids on holidays. Pool was very dirty i’ve swam in cleaner dams, lots of rubbish everywhere..

Ant infestation in beds. Upgraded to a room with an ant infestation in the bathroom but the beds were fine. Sink tap runs 24/7. Location is pretty good, 20 minute walk from the port of airlie where most boat charters leave from.

Check in took forever. Front desk staff were helpful enough at the start. When we arrived in the room the air con didnt work so i contacted reception straight away and they said maintenance will be straight up, i bought this Air Con issue up 4 times and they said each time that someone will fix it but NO-ONE DID! there was no fridge in room as promised (just an empty space) check in staff made a mistake and tried to kick us out of our room even thoguh we had already booked and paid! And then no apology. pool was filty and people in the 'resort' were up till all hours partying making it hard to sleep. dont stay here!!

Everything good except for the internet and the cable tv that is super bad.

Arrived got room, no king bed as per booking. Staff argued with me about it, told me I didn't have to get mad, after she insulted mesent me to supervisor who also argued about bed size. Shared that I own two king beds and bed in room was not a king, then told me what do u want? Your money back? Poor customer service, not sure why option to chose king bed was even on wotif if there was not a bed bigger than a queen?? Not happy. Water didn't work. In room either, had to call for maintenance.

Great vibe, we were in a 4 bed room out the back so couldn't hear the shed bar kicking off when we wanted to sleep which was fantastic

It's clean and tidy but I feel it could be updated. It's nice being in a garden setting and you essentially get what you pay. The staff seemed helpful
