Hotel Berti

We spent two nights in Assisi. The hotel is managed by a very agreeable man, who is happy to help with any questions. The hotel is a very short walk from the Duomo.

The service was great, and the man at the front desk was extremely helpful. However, we are literally right across from the train station which was a plus for convenience but very loud with drunks and pot smokers hanging out under our window all day and night. I also had my elderly parents with me and their is NO elevator at this hotel making it very difficult for them and our luggage.

The hotel is very close to the basilica and across the street from the parking lot which all the tour buses use. Our room was on that side of the hotel, so there was noise from the parking lot from the tour buses loading, although most tourists were gone by 11 pm or so. Breakfast was pretty average - some breads, a little fruit, and some yogurt. It was just fine for a one night stay.

This small hotel deserves a higher rating. We loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, and how clean everything was. Everything we needed was provided. We checked out early and stayed in town through lunch. As we walked by the hotel a couple of hours later a staff member came running out to give us the charge cord for our iPad that we had left behind! That kind of attentiveness is seldom found.

Very nice hotel close to main bus stop and close to the Basilica. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Our only regret was one night was not enough. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious . Definitely recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Assisi.

This is a lovely small hotel in a perfect location. This was our first visit to Italy and Assisi and we will be back!

The Hotel Berti is located right inside the wall, as close to the long term parking lot at the bottom and the bus stop for the small buses that takes you to the center or to the top as you can get. You can check in and drop off your luggage before you begin touring this fascinating town. One of the best restaurants is also right across the road. But it was very quiet especially at night. The only thing we found a bit unsatisfactory was that the bath towels were like white linen tablecloths. They were even ironed.The rooms are not large, but not cramped. It has an elevator and the rate was also very reasonable. I believe it is family run and several of them speak English and are friendly and helpful. The hotel was recommended to us by a seasoned traveler who suggested we park at the bottom and check in, and then take the bus to the top and work our way down as we are older and climbing the steep roads would be hard for us. but we didn't want to miss anything. It was a good suggestion.

We spent to nights here a cpl of days before new years eve. I have to say this hotel was very nice. Standard breakfast, nice and helpful staff. Nice setting and clean and ample sized rooms. Perhaps it was alittle on the cold side, but that's how most italian homes are in the winter so why should a hotel be different. All in all a very good hotel.

Great place just inside the wall. From the train station take the bus up to lot a (stop before San Francesco gate). Can't miss stop as it is a fairly large bus stop/ lot. Hotel is very nice with comfortable rooms. Really close to everything.
