Hotel Berti

Highly atmospheric setting close to the towns medieval walls with a room and a view over the bus station into the Umbrian valley beyond. We didn't even get disturbed by the constant flow of coaches and buses. The hotels restaurant just a few doors up the street had a limited menu but exceptional quality. The town centre was a pleasant five minute climb and the surrounding places of interest were all within easy walking distance. St Francis Bassilica was only a couple of minutes away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful but the bar did close at 10pm which we did consider was a little early.

Very small room. Also very cold no heat of any kind. I it was so cold in room I did not want to go there.

Loved Hotel Berti! Was well located in Assisi and very comfortable to return to after a day sightseeing. Staff were very welcoming and the room had everything you need.

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at Hotel Berti : great location just inside Porta San Pietro where the bus stops and a few minutes walk to the basilica and other churches in Assisi, very attentive staff, good breakfast, great cuisine and service at their family-owned restaurant Da Cecco, just 50 meters from the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We definitely recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Berti. It was in a great location - near the church of St. Francis. If you venture further away from the hotel, you find better prices at restaurants. This is what we did and found nice places to eat - more reasonably priced. The hotel was clean, the room was nice and the staff was helpful. The continental breakfast was good - the espresso excellent. You need to pay $10 Euros for parking for 24 hours in a nearby parking lot. This hotel is just inside the old city and we would definitely stay there again - except we would stay longer.

Hotel Berti has been the best experience of all our hotels in Italy. The location is very convenient for people using public transport - right inside Porta San Pietro, where the bus stops. The staff are incredibly nice! Our room was a good size and the bathroom also good. The shower was smallish, but still adequate and we are not thin people! The staff were attentive, without being "obvious". My husband used a spare blanket as a second pillow on the first night, and the next day, when we returned from our exploration of Assisi, another pillow was already there - we didn't have to ask.. The breakfast was great, even a home made cake. Lots of cold meats, cheese, eggs, juice, breads and croissants, yoghurt, as well as good, fresh coffee. We had our breakfasts outside, under the shady trees, watching the comings and goings of Assisi. The hotel owners also run a lovely restaurant, and our meals there were fabulous. Truffles, truffles, truffles. Great food and a good selection of wines. This is a fantastic place to stay in Assisi. Highly recommended.

The hotel accomadations provided a nice view. The staff was very helpful. Would recommend this to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very close to the parking lot of Assissi. There was a nice buffet breakfast every morning with an outdoor eating area. The elevator was very small, but most of them seem to be in Europe. There were lots of shops and eating places nearby..

We found the hotel right away as it is the first one you see as you enter the gates. It was so peaceful and clean.

Good location near a major parking structure and a 10 minute walk to the Basilica. Rooms are small but unless you're planning to spend a lot of time in-doors, they're perfectly utilitarian. The elevator is a little tight, but the small patio and breakfast make up for any minor flaws. If you're only in Assisi for a night or two - like we were - then this is a reasonable, affordable home base.
