Montien House Chaweng Beach Resort

No beach! There is no beach at this property which let us down as this was the key reason we picked this hotel. The beach is only walkable when the tide is out. The staff were the only nice thing about this place, they were wonderfully attentive and kind. The breakfast was very poor. We only ate once the whole time we were there. Oddly, the restaurant was fine for dinner as the food was great! We arrived in the evening and had dinner which gave us high hopes for the breakfast. The location is great if you're with friends on a party holiday but not for families with small children. Although the staff were great, the general feeling coming away from Montien house - Overpriced for what it is.

First time here. Room was clean and staff very polite and nice. Balcony wasn't so good at our room. Music from the street was heard to room, but wasn't so loud and didin't bother so much. Breakfast was good by the ocean. There was a pool, area was nice by the ocean as well.

Ace location, a easy walk anywhere in Chaweng. The property is split between bungalows and a new Annex building, there's a swimming pool and restaurant right at the beach. We booked a deluxe room and stayed in the Annex building. The room was spacious and could easily fit 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids. They also gave us daily bottles of water and it was very clean. Unfortunately, although our room had a balcony, it was facing the apartments in the building next door.

Fantastic breakfast, beautiful walk to the beach / pool area, and convenient to coffee, currency exchanges and shopping, services.

I stayed here twice within two weeks. Close to the main town and Samui center, but when you are in the resort, you feel secluded.

Really beautiful premises & restaraunt & pool are right on the beach. Rooms are very old & in urgent need of an update. Safe opens with a key! Staff are awesome. Wont stay here again as it was below my expectation especially for the price paid. If your looking for a budget place then this is the place to come to. Nothing wrong just outdated room & bear minimum facilities

Great little hotel, very close to Airport, so you get the odd flight comking over the top Nice little pool abd direct access to beach

Need to be more cleaner around the pool area..lots of ants!..Plumbing is not that good either!.

We've stayed in Chaweng now 5 times as a couple in our 60s, this is the first time at Montien.....and can honestly say its my favourite. Tucked away down a narrow street just off the main street with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. We had a garden bungalow (No.113), in lush garden surroundings, yes its very dated, if you want modern, its not for you, but we don't mind that, as long as its clean & comfortable...omg was that queen size bed comfortable...yes!!. The shower was powerful, though I thought the hand basin was in a strange place, next to, not in, the bathroom! there was a safe & storage. Kettle, mugs & tea facility. The cleaners came in daily and changed towels & bedding, they were so friendly, lovely ladies, a credit to Montien, nothing was ever to much trouble. One great thing, was wifi unit in every room, brilliant like been at home. The terrace area had 2 chairs and small table. Towels for the pool supplied at the restaurant, the pool itself was a little dated but a reasonable size, and warm, plenty of beds around, never seemed over busy, then straight down the steps onto the beach and that lovely warm sea! Have seen reviews saying the beach isn't great, but i had no problem with it, not a massive area, so not to busy, but you can walk up the beach to were it is. The noise from the Ark bar further up the beach was not to bad, worse of Fri/Sat nights as you'd expect, but nothing you cant put up with.....certainly not Montiens fault. The restaurant was lovely, didn't eat much there, maybe a sandwich at lunchtime by the pool and cocktails/beer, all very nice, pleasant staff too, and played nice background music during the day, not blaring out I suppose our only gripe is with other selfish guests, 3 men in the next room, shouting & loud music till gone 4am and banging doors, no consideration for other guests trying to sleep!, luckily they only stayed 1 night, everyone else was fine and made some new friends whilst there All in all, we loved it and would not hesitate to stay there again, in fact i cant wait, we may be back in 2025...............thank you Montien, our little bit of paradise, we'll be back
