Cafe Playa Negra Hotel

First visit to Hotel Cafe Playa Negra. This hotel has a restaurant that you would think was in New York, Los Angeles or any world class city. Spent a week and everything on the menu was beautifully presented and outstanding taste and flavor combinations. I was not prepared for food this good in a town known more for surfing than resort living. Except for excursions to Tamarindo, all my meals were here. The restaurant also seems to be a local favorite

Absolutely loved this little gem of a hotel. The food...omg!! Breakfast is included, highly recommend. Be prapared to wake up early from the symphony of birds...absolutely delightful. Short walk to the beach. Four or five other amazing restaurants a short walk away. Super chill, relaxed vibe.

The standard is good, everything is clean and working and the bed was comfortable.The food is good and the place is around 10 minutes in walking distance to the beach. The staff is both professional and very friendly - Thank you to Nixon, Fiorella,Michael, Randall and the others! If I was to stay at Cafe Playa Negra again, I would probably try to get a room that was not directly above the restaurant, as it can be a bit noisy in the evenings.

A bit of an oasis on a dusty, pothole-filled road in Playa Negra. We stayed in one of the two suites which included a much-better-than-expected breakfast (try the burrito) each morning. The suite was advertised as having a balcony but, in fact, it has a patio on an inside walkway which doesn’t get any sun or much of a breeze. That aside, the room was simple but comfortable with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Room includes AC and a refrigerator with items for purchase. In the back of the property is a delightful “garden” with a small pool, great for relaxing or sunbathing. Hotel is about a ten minute walk to the beach. A few restaurants around but not a lot of options to walk to. The real highIight, however, was the staff. We had a drink in the bar each night and became friends with the friendly bartenders and waiters. Very genuine people who really made our stay wonderful. Thank you Michael, Randall, Alex, Roxie and all the rest of the staff for your hospitality!

The staff, the hotel, the room, the garden and especially the restaurant. We loved Plata Negra beach, as well. We liked it all! Highly recommended stay at this modern newly renovated hotel! The food is exquisite, and all the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a nice pool and an even nicer garden. We would like to return and stay longer at this hotel.
