"No sleep with air conditioner running, the lumpy bed, the mini-size pillow creepy place. 4am left."

nothing at all. the "historic" golf course and lodge was actually a failed 1950's business scheme. there were no other customers at the lodge, there were no other travelers in rooms. the restaurant and bar was closed at 5pm on saturday and closed all day on sunday.

Everything. Just awful. When we arrived, we realized that we were fraud victims by them and Booking.com. Someone came to the locked door and led us up a hallway and through the vacant dining room to a closed bar where the lady that represented to property greeted us. We immediately asked to have the booking cancelled. The representative said we couldn't cancel then slid the booking papers for me acknowledge and sign. I looked at my Booking.com booking and it said that my booking couldn't be cancelled and refunded. After signing, she gave us a door key and told us how to find our room. She apologized for the closed kitchen and bar and was kind enough to make us a salad of shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, avocado, and chicken so we wouldn't have to drive back to Mesquite, NV to dine. She then left the building and we never saw her nor any other people. The key unlocked a loosely-fit doorknob and as the door swung open things go even worse. The door had no deadbolt for room security. The room was a basement room with a high window. When the curtains were opened the view was of the cement patio for the lodge's closed bar and restaurant, not the "mountains and golf course" described in the Booking.com description of the facilities. There was a old air conditioner at the base of the window that operated nearly non-stop to keep the room at 70degrees. The room had a lumpy queen size bed with nightstands and lamps on either side. There were two very small quasi-paper medical-supply style throw-away "one-use" pillows. There was a disabled persons bench style bathing chair in the garment closet area. The shower/bathtub was a uniquely narrow and short enclosure, maybe 24 inches wide and five feet long with shower curtains and handle-style shower nozzle. There was one tiny bar soap, one shampoo, one conditioner, one body lotion in tear-open condiment sized plastic packets.

"Pleasant and fun"

The place had a charm that made it very pleasant and the historical associations were interesting.

The check out was strange with no receptionist. They could do better maybe a small sign saying to checkout at the Pro Club when nobody was at the main reception.
