Leonardo Hotel Newcastle Quayside

The hotel is well located for a conference at The Glasshouse and breakfast is always good. The direct taxi booking is a neat idea.

The hotel felt a little tired compared to my previous visits. A twin room for two adults was a double bed, and a single bed in other hotels, this is usually two doubles or two small doubles.

Location to the finish line of a race

The hot water pressure was poor to say the very least. After a 70 foot race I couldn’t even have a decent shower or a bath.

Check-in was quick and efficient, which made arrival hassle-free. The room was spacious and had enough space to work comfortably during my business trip. The location was also convenient, as it was close to the venue where my event was taking place.

The room was quite dusty and, unfortunately, the air conditioning did not work throughout our stay. We contacted reception twice on the first night and again on the second night. Each time we were told the system had been reset and should start working, but it never did. As we were visiting during a warm spell, the room became very stuffy and uncomfortable. We ended up having to keep the window open just to get some fresh air. Unfortunately, this meant being woken up around 5am by recycling collections outside, with glass bottles being emptied into bins. Between the heat and the noise, we did not get a good night's sleep on either night.

Bathrooms need updating. Pillows hard. Food processed. Location not great relative to other city centre hotels
