Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Alamogordo

I want to give a shout out to 2 team members who went out of their way to help us. First, we had 2 beds. When we entered the room it was obvious that, while one was made the other was made after having been slept in. It was all mussed and pillows wrinkled. Janet of the cleaning staff was down the hall and agreed it needed changing and took it upon herself to do so immediately! She was great! Then, the two remotes were confusing and Shelby(?) at the front desk said if I could not figure them out to call again and she would come right up to help. She came right up when I called and showed me how to work the tv. And, earlier when I could not get the hot water to work in the tub, she explained how to do it and if I could not, to call her and she would show me. I ultimately got it going but the controls were hard to turn, it turns out. Five-star service!!! Have never experienced that kind of customer service in any of the Marriott properties I have stayed in. And, I have stayed in hundreds over my 69 years traveling. Thank you, ladies! I hope someone important sees this.

We stayed here the night before we went to the Trinity Test site. The location is good, easy walking distance to several restaurants. The rooms were just okay, not what I would expect at a Fairfield. The seating area in my room had fake leather seating that was hard and a floor lamp that I could not figure out how to turn on. The door to the bathroom was too low to the tile floor, the veneer was peeling off the bottom from being forced to swing open and shut and it would not fully shut. The shower had a wall mounted and a rain shower head. The rain shower head would only drip a small amount of water, making it pointless. The breakfast was basic. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful - a bright spot in an average hotel.

This hotel is in a good location for visiting parks, monuments, and museums in the area. It was walking distance from a couple of restaurants. The people working there were generally helpful. However, it was not the cleanest Fairfield we have stayed in. Our room had a sofa and chair that were both very uncomfortable. It was also hard to adjust the water temperature in the shower. Breakfast was a typical chain hotel buffet. The hot water provided to make tea tasted like coffee; possibly the thermos had previously been used for coffee.

The first room we received when we arrived smelled like swett, the bathroom floor was dirty, there was a candy wrapper and muffin crumbs on the floor. We were re-assigned. The Continental breakfast worker woman took a towel to clean up a coffee spill on the floor with her shoe wiped it across the floor, then picked it up and wiped the coffee counter and the coffee spout!!!! I was completely appalled!! I complained to the front desk, and got an appology…needless to say, that was the last time I had breakfast with your facility.

We often stay at Fairfield Inns on vacation. This one is in need to some TLC. We had a very small room. Full disclosure: we were staying free on Marriott points, so I don't expect the best room in the place for free! That said, however, the room was cramped. The closet had a safe bolted to the floor, preventing suitcases from going in... so we had to keep them out in the (small) room. The bathroom floor was in poor shape. Some tiles were broken, and multiple tiles were loose, one of which actually was sticking up. This was a bit of a safety hazard. The room only had towels fro one person (and no bath mat) until we asked. The chairs in the room were uncomfortable. The place wasn't as clean as most we've seen. On the plus side, the location was good, with two excellent restaurants within a block's walk. The staff were polite. Our general sense was that it's a facility that's due for renovation... which, I'm sure, is a very expensive undertaking.

A bit disappointing, due to rather bland food at less than a desirable temperature.

Fridge wasn’t working. Fixed in the morning. There were gnats over the swimming pool that kept buzzing us. Key cards needed replacing 5 times

Spent 1 night there, Room and Bath room were a bit outdated. WiFi was just Ok. Deskchair was broken, Room itself was quiet, but fairly dark. Breakfast selection provided something for everyone. Staff was courteous, but Management should have look at other Fairfield's and improve the Rooms.
