When we arrived we found out that they weren't serving dinner. It was a Sunday evening and almost everything was closed. The superior double room was very large but dated and up endless staircases. I counted on the way out 51 steps and 3 fire doors. Very difficult even with a small bag

Bed was comfortable

Arrived after 9 pm (I had told them) the room was top floor 5 flights of stairs the room was stifling and windows closed Had been told there was a fan in the wardrobe which I put on Opened the windows and could see the ledge outside covered in pigeon poo and the desperate need of frames repointing Carpets were stained Towels smelt of dry water lucky I had my own DJ blasting in the courtyard below even tho only a few people there With that noise (loud enough to drown out TV) and the heat not good for sleeping breakfast was over £20 which is just ridiculous (I declined) I asked if I could just get a coffee I was told I could only order a cafetière

The lovely old courtyard. Our room and bathroom were really spacious.

Check in was not until 4pm. Breakfast was an extra charge which we thought was expensive. Also breakfast was only served until 9.30pm and that was a Sunday.

Facilities very good and clean

Room size little bit small, Bathroom floor very slippery even when dry

Great location in centre if Grantham. Impressive building with lots of history. Small, comfy room. Great value for what I paid. Great shower. No air-conditioning, but receptionist had explained the age of the building. However, sash windows let in lots of air & fan provided. WiFi good. I didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on food.

Wry friendly staff. Beautiful building. Clean spacious room . Great parking
