The whole experience was exceptional. The hotel was warm throughout. The beds were large and comfy. The TV was well positioned and large. The shower and bath were excellent too. The bar was cosy and the one real ale was well kept. My wife was overjoyed to find Becks lager on draught, which is rare. The breakfast in the medieval banqueting hall was magnificent and the service was wonderful. We will definitely stay again and also recommend this historic hotel to others. Loved the history of the place and its links to royalty.

Lovely staff, great historic building and atmosphere, very convenient location.

Uncomfortably warm room (stayed in April) and no air con. Very poor sound proofing (woken up several times by the loud creaking floorboards, constant hum of a air vent in the street outside, plus a gap between door & floor so ever sound outside the room was heard) & the bed/bedding hard and to a poor standard.
