Angel & Royal Hotel

Had a wonderful time, always go there all time when visiting grantham to see family. Always immaculate and such a beautiful hotel to stay in. Highly recommend all too stay there just to have the experience of a wonderful place and staff.

Location was perfect.

Suite was initially cold as heating was not on, window in bathroom was stuck open so bathroom cold. However, staff put the heating on when requested and managed to close the stuck window in bathroom. Also provided extra portable heater.

This is a historic hotel right in the centre of town. Room was very spacious

The price of breakfast seemed expensive considering options at nearby restaurants. Not a major issue but we couldn’t open the windows (dated old sash windows)

A comfortable traditional hotel with attractive public spaces and a good bedroom and bathroom. A good breakfast guaranteed, served smilingly. Interesting historically also.

Prices for main courses on the à la carte evening menu were on the high side.

Great hotel, historic and full of charm… rooms quirky but spotless, evening meal very good and staff professional, courteous and friendly. Lots of history in the hotel. Look for the tiny staircase….

Breakfast was expensive (£20 per head, and bizarrely limited. Had to order a full breakfast then ask them to leave half of it off in order to get poached egg in toast! That with a pot of tea cost £20! My friends’ avocado with poached eggs and tomato was visually vomit worthy and she was charged extra for the poached eggs as they were not part of the specified menu. We were surprised to be the only people having breakfast before we ordered… not so surprised by time we had finished. This was a dreadful shame as the rest of our time at the hotel was brilliant and enjoyable… I think if you charged less, had more flexible breakfast options (no bananas?… seriously?) more people would have breakfast. Just my opinion.
