Peeling decor in bathroom . Poor housekeeping.

Super & helpful staff

The place is beautiful, specially the garden which feels really magical, and has a stream with ducks. It feels very peaceful!

Staff was a bit frosty and not very welcoming or accommodating. I was travelling on my own with my 3 girls under 8 including a toddler and a child with special needs. I wasn't offered help with the bags and instead the gentleman that was taking us to the room took us a long way and seemed to be bothered that one of my girls got excited about going and taking a look at the swimming pool. When we went to the swimming pool we found out that you were supposed to ask for the towels at reception(we weren't adviced this and there weren't signs anywhere). I was made felt a little bit uncomfortable and that I didn't belong there. The swimming pool area leaves a lot to desire as it's very small and extremely cold when you get out. The showers weren't working properly, but there was no one at reception to share this with. Despite requesting it, I didn't get an itemised bills from the restaurant when I checked out.

Booking.com doesn't handle bookings with dogs very well, hotel takes dogs but not in all rooms, leading to confusion and request for extra money.

Amazing food and full of potential.

Exceptionally comfortable and large bed, with crisp linen, spacious room, hot and powerful bath and shower, with hand held shower for hair washing, biscuits tea coffee and still and sparkling water changed daily. Warm room on a frosty night, very welcoming. Tasty evening meal, three courses around £50 with service charge on top, were allocated a room out in the outbuildings, but as the weather was dry this was perfectly acceptable

The swimming pool was lovely, the gin bar was cool and the decor is the room v tasteful,

Some of the food was quite expensive - cheese board £16 and it wasn’t amazing. The coffee wasn’t great.
