Hilton Garden Inn Rapid City

Great hotel, close to the airport and Sturgis area. Would highly recommend

Friendly staff and good location

Beds and pillows were so comfortable. Rooms were spacious and quiet.

Location was good, Tyler was helpful at the front desk and Yanna was helpful at the restaurant

Room wasn’t ready on time, obviously they are short staffed which made it a challenge. Hallway carpets needs cleaned or replaced. First day after waiting for our room the hotel had no water, yes the whole hotel, when they got it back on 3 hours later we had no hot water, had to wait 2 more hours for that. The next day the power went out for 3 hours and I noticed the emergency lights was not working in some of the halls, don’t seem right and the odd thing is some rooms had power and some didn’t which was strange. The breakfast chef showed up half the time forcing them to have a buffet breakfast instead of being able to order something. Only one elevator was working so in the morning as everyone was leaving the hotel it was frustrating to have to wait on it. We were not offered any compensation other than a free breakfast one day which was disappointing.

We were woke up at 9am by housekeeping trying to clean our room. Check out isn't until noon. Otherwise, a nice stay.

I changed the hotel I normally stay at in my travels to Rapid City. Normally Hilton Inns are a favorite so I tried it. Upon arrival there is a funky incense smell in the lobby that is not pleasant. It smells like a dirty foreign restaurant. All the carpets in the hallways and rooms are filthy and stained. Very disappointed. I'll go back and stay at the hotel I used to stay at when in town.

Soon after entering the room we discovered the bathroom sink did not drain well and the fridge was warm inside despite it being set on the highest temp. I turned it down to hopefully melt the frozen ice on the back of frig. Told the front desk and they sent a gentleman in short order and he fixed us up.

We reserved a room for one night. The afternoon of the reservation we called and reconfirmed our reservation with the front desk person. 30 mi utes before we arrived she called and said there was a computer error and they overbooked she offered us a free room at the Hampton Inn. When I reminded her we had called earlier to confirm she said she remembered and would try to move someone else. After holding she said she could not. After arriving at the Hampton Inn we discovered fleas under the pillow and promptly left. There were no rooms anywhere so we had to sleep at a rest stop. Never have experienced this.
