"Uncomfortable and disappointing"

2.0

Historic

Shower was very dirty, drains blocked & smelly. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Room too hot. Breakfast was disappointing & finished early, there were no cups for tea/coffee & we had to find staff to ask for orange juice.

"Love love love. We’ll be back 😊"

10.0

There was a Xmas market on. Lots of stalls. The setting , the building , the gardens , the lights were all amazing . The room was warm and comfortable despite it being December wet and cold outside. The breakfast was great - the room 12 on West Wing was very spacious , clean and the views were amazing . The staff were all very professional and helpful. We didn’t get to use the cinema or the gym. Loved the idea that some rooms on East Wing were dog friendly. Iron, ironing board and hanging space, internet , tv was all available.

Only a double bed - would have preferred a king size Very thick puffed up cushion to sleep on . Would have preferred option of some softer cushions. Would have preferred USB charger ports next to beds instead of just 3 in plugs.

"Beautiful building with poorly maintained rooms"

6.0

Beautiful building and grounds.

Poorly maintained room. No heating, black mould in the bathroom, 2 out of 3 wall lights not working and the toilet blocked up.

"Room 11 was not 4 star accommodation"

2.0

Nice curtains, peace and quiet. Good food.

The room provided was on the first floor with a view into the courtyard. There was no offer of assistance with luggage to take it up the stairs, as it was a case of find it yourself or go without, as there was no other staff around, other than the receptionist. The immediate impression of the room, once found, was like walking into a Nuns cell. There were no decorative throw cushions on the bed, the furniture was black and chipped with the paintwork scratched and limited provisions of everything. The kettle was white with fur and unusable. There was only one bedside table, despite it being a double room. This was due the incorrect placement of phone cable charging points in the wall. The mattress did not fit the king-size bed and the divan base was stained, (amongst the patterned fabric). The dressing table chair was an old stained, paint chipped banqueting chair from the function room. The wall under the window was badly marked from previous customer suitcases. The bathroom appeared clean but, there was no rubber sealant on the bottom of the shower door, so the bathroom floor flooded badly. The ironing board cover was dirty and stained amongst the pattern and not good quality. And the blanket at the bottom of the bed was something from an old army barracks in appearance, bobbled and not attractive, despite its thick quality. The duvet cover was far too large for the double sized duvet, so much so, that your feet got tangled up in the material, when you tried to turn over in bed, with the material being stuffed under the duvet, to try to hide its size. Thankfully I took my own pillow. Then there was the window - a double window opening, only one window had a handle, the other had no handle. And the heating for such an old building must have been installed some 30 years ago, as the clanking of the old pipes was interesting.

"Beautiful property"

8.0

Beautiful property with lovely gardens. Staff were very helpful. The cinema was great. Great to have the pub so conveniently close in the courtyard. Lovely room and decor and lovely service. The breakfast was nice.

Went to the White Hart pub and did not enjoy the fish and chips I had sadly as fish was soggy. Felt overpriced for what it was. One evening I went to the pub at 7:35pm and was told the kitchen was full despite the pub being pretty quiet and having been told food was served until 8pm which was a shame. A light above the mirror in the room would be good, as the lighting in the room can be a bit low at the dressing table.

"Dartington Hall is stunning, accommodation areas are tired and in need of decoration and furniture upgrade."

6.0

Beautiful property and gardens externally.

Inside very basic and tired. Event noise kept me awake on the first night of my stay.
