Residence Brunner

Overall great experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit outdated but it is charming as a result. It is also very convenient to ski back at the end of the day as it's on the slope. I really enjoyed the special Sri Lankan curry made by the cook. Very authentic taste! I would definitely come back on my next visit to Wengen.

Older hotel and a bit run-down (e.g., concave mattresses and plastic flowers), but super clean. A few minutes walking from the train, but it's right on the slope. Their bar is open until 7 and their restaurant serves a limited (but tasty) menu 7-9. I'd definitely recommend, but particularly for the price, I think they could use some updates.

The Brunner is a wonderful nineteen canteen hotel located in an unparalleled situation appreciated by many a skier and walker alike. Dated interior enhances its appeal, with cleanliness and friendliness key components of a most enjoyable stay. Pristine starch white tables cloths hark to a bygone era, in what once was the epitome of class. Don't let it go, it's a gem.

This hotel is worth the up hill walk from the station and Main Street for the amazing scenery. Friendly accommodating staff. Nice breakfast. Tea and coffee facilities and microwave useful. Bedroom was small with balcony.

A little out of the way (7 min slight uphill walk from train station) but because of this the place was really quiet and we hardly saw other guests. I believe all rooms have a balcony facing the Lauterbrunnen valley which is amazing when you open the doors and look out in the morning (assuming good weather). Beds were pretty soft memory foam so keep that in mind if you prefer a firm mattress. Breakfast was decent, with assortment of cereals, breads, boiled eggs, hams, cheeses, etc For those of you with a tight budget, they have a shared fridge and microwave for guest use and you can get much cheaper food from the nearby grocery stores instead. Overall good experience. We wanted a quiet place to experience the feel of being in the Swiss Alps away from the cities yet within easy reach of most ammeminities and other locations and Hotel Brunner accomplishes this.

Great hotel & staff! Breakfast was free and good. A little uphill walk to hotel but it’s nice hotel! V clean and well maintained.

We stayed here for 2 days The hotel is situated on a steep hill which we did not know otherwise not take this hotel . The hotel very undated need to repaint to make a fresh look. The staff are very friendly

Hotels.com listed 0.1 mile from train station but it is actually closer to 1mile UP HILL walk, very hard to find. We only had 5kg (10 lbs) backpacks and it was frustrating trying to find the hotel...I can't imagine having luggage! Room is very small, 2 smaller-than-twins takes up 90% of the room leaving a 1 foot (30 cm) wide walk way. The walls and floors are so dirty, smelly (toxic moldy kind of smell), as well as thin. It's substandard when you can very clearly hear your neighbors next room and above you walking, peeing, and other gross bodily functions. Next time I wouldn't book this for $140 nightly (breakfast included) when so many other hotels closer to the station, Coop grocery store, also include breakfast AND dinner go for $200-220 nightly. Typical pasta dinners here costs about $40-50 per person so please avoid this Residence Brunner and book elsewhere. It's really not cheaper and you don't have to feel sick sleeping in a mold and mildewy room. I've never left reviews but this is worse than a nightmare so please avoid.

Certainly some problem with the plumbing and definitely have to sort the smell in the bathroom in room nr 6

Relatively apart from Main station, approx 10 mins walk. But the environment is really amazing! The house is a bit old and you will here noise when upstairs guys are walking by as I was living in the 1st floor. Very quite place with budget price which means noisy guests may be around. Service is lovely and room is clean! Breathless view from balcony.
