The Shore

Accessible room which could be booked online. Fabulous location, very central but quiet. Well equipped room, nice furnishings, had everything I needed. Very clean.thank you.

Spacious, comfortable suite. Breakfast was at the Kirkwall hotel next door. Good choice of food. Friendly staff. Barman gave me almost a double shot for a single as it was the end of the bottle. Good location on the waterfront. Free parking nearby which always had spaces.

The Shore has a bit of a run down appearance, but the rooms inside were great.

Comfy room. First time a hotel provided me with a French press! Has no reception itself, but is being managed by the neighbouring “the Kirkwall hotel” (which seems, overall, nicer in comparison). Ideal if you are taking the ferry back to Aberdeen (bus leaves directly in front of the hotel, comfy lounge where you can wait for the departure).

What are wonderful and friendly. Rooms were small but clean.

We were in The Shore room 14, not part of main property which was still great except for the staining from water damage on the ceiling directly over the head of the bed.

The Shore itself is unattractive from the outside but the Kirkwall hotel is a fine old building! The rooms are nicely renovated and comfortable and spacious tho Bathrooms a bit cramped. The heater was efficient. Tea and coffee and nice biscuits provided. The main restaurant was busy and good.

Unfortunately they were unable to resolve my lack of hot water in the wash basin and have offered me a partial refund..
