Friendly staff

Mix up allowing dogs in the dining room in the evening. There were mixed messages from staff. I was told. I couldn't bring my dog in the dining room. When I dined there, there was a dog in.

Good breakfast, room quiet considering it was on a minor road. In a good area for walkers.

The room was slightly on the small side. That apart a good stay.

We only stayed at this venue for one night, but we would highly recommend it. Being greeted by friendly staff on arrival and being shown to our room, before booking dinner for that evening, everything went smoothly. The standout at this venue was the superior food! Although it is a pub/inn, the food was of high restaurant standard but with pub prices.

Unfortunately, the windows and our bathroom door didn't quite close, meaning it was quite cold when we returned in the evening. They resolved this with an electric heater in the main room, which worked well enough.

Excellent food, comfortable room in a quiet location.

The room was a little on the small side.

The location was beautiful with great walks straight from the front door. The room was quiet, calm, and (though small), comfortable. Beds and bedding were great. The food was really exceptional. We ended up eating dinner there each of the three nights we stayed, as it was so good, and the breakfasts were superb. All the staff were friendly, cheerful, helpful and efficient. We felt very well looked after.

It’s a very old building, and although a lot of effort has gone into reviving it, it’s still a bit shabby in places.
