Peckforton Castle

Excellent service, staff were amazing and food was top drawer.

The castle is beautiful and we were very excited to celebrate a special event by staying there for one night, enjoying a meal, a stay and breakfast. The room and settings were beautiful but unfortunately the dining experience ruined the evening. We had a 40 pound credit at the Brasserie restaurant. We were placed in the back room with bright lights and no atmosphere. We shared as an entry the creamy mushrooms on toast, it was not very good, but we did not complain. I then ordered the beef ragu but was served plain pasta with a bit of Bolognese sauce. Disgraceful for 22 pounds. Not even a bread basked with it. I unfortunately had to send it back and ordered the roasted beetroot as the menu is very limited. This meant that my partner had to have his dinner taken back to the kitchen so we could dine together. The beetroot tasted ok but it was the size of an entry and very little to it. When checking out I explained all this, still charged me the 11 pounds we exceeded from our 40 pound dining credit. The whole experience was disappointing and will not be returning or recommending to friends.

We stayed in a four poster room, for a couple of nights. The room was clean and well presented the staff were all friendly. We ate both nights in the Brasserie and the meals were lovely. Breakfast was good and well organised.

Excellent venue, food was great, staff were very helpful and friendly would highly recommend and located near lots of great local attractions within 30 minutes drive. Lovely castle experience to meet all budgets.

We’ve just returned from a two-night stay at Peckforton Castle and it was nothing short of magical. The castle itself is absolutely stunning — every corner feels grand, romantic and steeped in character. It truly feels like stepping into another world for a few days. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. From the front of house team to the bar staff and the restaurant and breakfast teams, every single person was impeccable. Warm, attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming — they couldn’t have done more for us. We enjoyed a beautiful meal in the brasserie restaurant and indulged in afternoon tea — both were worth every penny. The food was exceptional, and the experience felt special from start to finish. The cocktails in the Wine Cellar Bar were also delicious and the perfect way to end the evening. We loved every minute of our stay and didn’t want it to end. We will most definitely be returning again, hopefully very soon. Thank you for such a memorable experience. 🏰

Received a stay here as a Christmas gift with a seven course gourmet tasting menu meal. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish, the castle is so beautiful, great to wander round and explore. Lovely warm cosy rooms, (I am one of those people that are always cold, yet here it was perfect!) Clean rooms and bathrooms, all communal spaces tidy and clean. Such character everywhere you look. The tasting menu was an amazing experience, such beautifully presented and thought out dishes, a great evening. Lovely breakfast the next morning too.

Me and my granddaughter had a lovely stay at Peckforton Castle the food was lovely the staff were great and I would recommend staying here

After seeing some reviews I was a bit concerned, but our experience was great. Reception staff,actually all staff were really helpful, our room was lovely...the Bickerton . Lovely setting, we walked around the castle, inside and out. Lots of pheasants in the grounds. Food in the bistro was great. Breakfast was lovely ,I like that they serve you with your main breakfast. We went up beeston castle before which was a bonus. I've now arranged for my daughter to go there as a 30th birthday present. Yes I'd definitely recommend and I would go back .

Beautiful castle. I was so happy with my stay. I was worried about going because of some awful reviews I had read but I had such a great time. The castle was amazing and I have no complaints about the room or food it was just a perfect weekend. Everywhere was lovely and clean, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful with lots of wildlife.
