Best Western Ipswich Hotel

Friendly staff member on arrival helped check us in. Friendly staff member at breakfast. Bed was big, pillows nice.

Room snelt of stale aftershave on arrival. No air con, fan in room but loud so had to switch it off so quite warm due to weather No parking space available on second night when we got back, had to park on a grass verge,under trees the only available space, didn't want to take up a disabled space a vehicle with a trailer which had dogs in overnight had taken up spaces, dogs were barking and growling which felt unsettling. Confusing which exit and entrance to use to drive into.

Location worked well for our purpose. It was clean but basic, price was appropriate. Bed was comfortable.

Bathroom needing update and there was no deluxe element for the upgrade.

I was travelling solo but as part of a larger group - we stayed here for four nights. We were warmly welcomed, and waved off at the end of our stay, by Moira. My bedroom was very clean, well-furnished, and with a very comfortable bed. It would be helpful for older and/or less able guests if a wall-mounted diagonal grab rail could be installed by the bath. I have raised this issue. Breakfast buffet choices were good, and our pre-ordered evening meals were varied and generally very appetising. Compared to some hotels I have stayed in, the bar prices were reasonable and not overpriced. All the staff were very friendly and attentive.

I chose this hotel specifically for one reason. Your website (and also Best Western website) both say that the hotel has air conditioning. There is no air conditioning at this hotel! The staff tells me that no rooms have air conditioning and the hotel has never had air conditioning. The restaurant was a little scruffy and characterless and the menu choice was appalling. This is never a 4-star hotel! It is sufficiently bad enough for me to send an official complaint.

Very disappointed with failing entry cards to my room even went back to get it sorted. Wifi did not work sometime in the room, TV remote buttons do not work properly with the TV.

Close-by to Harwich, so a short travel from boat to hotel

This place sucks big time. Misrepresented location- it is 10 minutes by car to Ipswich and in a field near a village called Copdock. No elevators and dingy looking old hotel. Looks like it will close down soon.
