Balito apartments

Our family stayed at Balito hotel for one week in july 23. Although the hotel is a bit outside the mainstream tourism,  we can strongly recommend this place. It's quiet surroundings, but not far to Chania (bus leaves just outside the hotel every hour ) and its easy to reach a bus from Kalamaki to Platanias (about 15 min. walk from the hotel.) The service and the flexibility among the employers are very accommodating. The owner George was very helpfull, polite and took very good care of us. Our apartment in the second floor gave us spectacular view to both the sea and the mountains. The big balcony gave the family a lot of extra space. There is a pool area at the hotel which can be used at all times. It's about 800 meters down to the Beach, restaurants, and shops. There is also a very good local restaurant called Elia just 300 meters from the hotel. The bathroom is recently refresheed. There is a fridge and some kitchen equipment, but it is not designed for a propper meal. The hotel offers also breakfast for an extra charge. Summary: For a very reasonable price we had a very nice stay with good service, great hospitality and good faciilities.

We needed a place close to (20 minute drive) chania centre and this was perfect for our week long stay. The owner was really nice and helpful and provided his mobile number to contact if any info was needed. His recommended restaurant was our favorite in our stay. The room (studio apartment with a double bed) was a good size with good facilities like microwave, small stove top and a fridge. It had a balcony and was cleaned daily. No complaints at all. Good value.

Very affordable and very nice hosts. Apartments were clean and had extremely nice showers. We were more than happy with our stay.

We had a perfect relaxing holiday here in Balito hotel and Galatas area! Location is nice and quiet, but there is couple of good restaurants and minimarkets nearby and the beach is about 10 minutes walk away. Hotel has good rooms and pool area and the owner is extremely helpfull and nice! We will definitely return!

Solo female traveler/nomad here (PL/USA) It had a gear price and was only 3 min drive from the beach with a lot of parking space, so if you rent a car that's a big plus. George, the owner/manager was a superb host, quick to respond to all questions and requests... also great cook! He was always somewhere around the property and when I texted him (WhatsApp) he appeared within few minutes, always polite and in good spirit. I had a nice, clean and comfortable room with the ocean view from my balcony with daily cleaning service. Overall, great experience!

George is an excellent host nothing too much of a problem, kids loved the pool, room clean and tidy, excellent breakfast we loved the fresh orange juice and Greek yogurt with muesli. Really nice accessible beach with beach restaurant, hope to visit again.

Balito's is a very clean and quiet place. We will definitely visit again when next in Chania. George is a lovely host, very friendly and happy to help. The rooms are of good size and they have everything you need for self catering. We had a lovely view and loved every single moment we spent in the pool when not driving around Chania. There is a perfect local tavern five minutes walk from the hotel.

Veldig hyggelig leilighetsanlegg med serviceinnstilte medarbeidere som gjorde alt for at vi skulle ha det bra. De var hjelpsomme til å finne svar på våre spørsmål og behjelpelig med alt fra å bestille taxi til manikyr. En kveld i uken ble det arrangert felles grillkveld for alle gjestene med nydelig mat. Vi hadde stort sett bassenget for oss selv på dagtid da de fleste dro på stranden. Anbefales!

We were both alarmed and upset after we were subject to a very serious verbal attack by a member of the owner/ management team which was both untrue and hugely unprofessional. It left us with no option other than to leave the premises and cut short our stay. Our message to the owners of this hotel is: ‘Please turn your anger and frustration regarding the stray animal situation in your country towards the Mayor/Dimos (ie. local authorities) and NOT YOUR GUESTS! Unforgivable.
