We chose the hotel because of the availability and access to fishing on the river Don. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming from the outset. The hotel is located in lovely countryside and looked welcoming even in pretty poor weather when we arrived. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed. The outstanding feature of our stay was the food. The menu was limited to three choices of each course, (varied daily) and everything that we tried was cooked to perfection. The breakfast was more than adequate to keep us going until we returned in the evening ready for dinner. Fishing on the hotel's water was excellent - the best river fishing that I have every experienced, despite some questionable weather during the week. There was lots of space for the 4 rods available each day and David was very knowledgeable about conditions and what flies/techniques etc to try each day. We will definitely be back.

Very happy with the stay and the service was attentive and not obtrusive. David the chef/part owner was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Room was pleasant and a little cosy as I had to leave the suitcase in the hallway outside the bathroom. Breakfast was super, lovely warm croissants and homemade marmalade,followed by full Scottish and a vegetarian option the following day. Location was great for our 2 day ski trip at Lecht, which was a 30 minute drive through beautiful countryside, crossing the River Don about 4 times which me and my son found very humorous!

This hotel is well worth a vist the food is top noch the breakfast was the best i had ever had my daughter said is was like being at gordon ramseys i entend to return for a week with my wife.

Absolutely delightful. The comfort of the room and friendly host was wonderful. The food was the best I tasted during my three week journey in Scotland. I would recommend this Inn to anyone wanting to experience top class food and accommodation in a lovely setting.

After a long days driving my disappointment to find there was no food or drink being served on a Tuesday was frustrating to say the least. Would have been nice to have been offered some sort of of food. Had to drive 15 minutes back the way I had came to have a meal. The offering at breakfast was super and I'm.sure if I ate meat would have been brilliant. To be honest the hotel was lovely and homely on the inside but the lack of food served on a Tuesday meant if I had known, I wouldn't have booked.

This is a nice inn with a good chef. We found it pretty difficult to find as it's not exactly where the sites tell you.

Friendly staff and lovely clean room. Excellent food. Easy to find and plenty of parking - would definitely stay here agin
