"Lovely staff"

Service was great but product was not. No AC - this is ok if a fan was provided but it wasn’t. Breakfast shocking. Serving cereals from plastic “Really Useful Boxes” AKA storage containers is not the one!

Friendly and easy check in. Lovely views of the sea. Quiet sleep, think it was the best of the trip. Well kept pint at the end of the night. Would stop again.

"Penzance"

A standard but perfectly fine hotel with a great location. You have to be lucky to get parking nearby (which I was). Highlight was the breakfast which was the best of my trip.

"Keep llaway from this disgusting venue "

2.0

This place is the most disorganised place I've ever been in no one has a clue what to do the staff are running around like headless chicken's. My wife and I both had a carvery, I couldn't believe the poor quality of the food that was on offer, we both chose 2 meats and had yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes mashed potatoes, peas, mashed carrots and gravey. The food had been heated up for so long that that you couldn't even cut the meat the roast potatoes were like bricks then mashed potatoes and carrots were full of hard lumps the only thing we managed to eat Was the peas and gravey. The whole place is a disgusting mess. They have a captive clientel so they don't care about the food or infact anything

"A pleasent stay with cheery people (and some great hash browns for breakfast)"

8.0

I wanted somewhere, ideally near the seafront, for a solo minibreak in Penzance, and The Lugger looked like it would fit the bill nicely. I couldn't fault the location, it's right on the sea front, and the room I'd booked with a sea view had a great sea view, it was on the front of the building with a huge bay window. I'd say the rooms were 'functionally pleasent', it doesn't claim to be four star, but it offers what it offers well. I was initially concerned that there might be an issue with noise from the bar terrece immediately below my window, but there wasn't. The staff I dealt with during my stay were all amazing, and I'm going to especially single out the wonderful woman who cooks the breakfasts who was just delightful. But I want to stress just how nice everybody was. The breakfast was nice, there was cereal, fruit juice and yoghurt, followed by an option of a cooked breakfast and toast; the nice woman in the kitchen got my eggs spot on how I like them every morning, and the hash browns were great After my second night, my room developed an intresting issue in that the extractor fan came on and remained on and I was concerned this might disturb my sleep - these things happen in hotels, and what counts is how the hotel deals with them, in this case they could not be faulted and because they couldn't resolve it immediately found an alternative room for me for the remainder of my stay. The way they dealt with this was definitely to their credit. I did find that the water pressure in my initial room was very low, the shower in particular being very weak. Though they did mention when I checked in they'd had a plumbing issue on site so perhaps it was related to that. I'd be happy to stay there again.

"Amazing food and service."

10.0

Although I didn't stay here visited for a meal and I have to say the food is gorgeous I had a rump steak cooked well done the flavour was amazing. Freya was a lovely attentive waitress and even got some sweetcorn for me service with a smile, the steak and Ale pie was jam packed full of succulent meat such quality they clearly have a passion for good food. Blue and white lights look inviting with all the beach decor even a nice desert cabinet. The quirky young barman was very polite as well a credit to you.
