If you are after a "posh" hotel. This isn't it. What it is is a hotel with great staff, adequate room facilities that are spacious & clean and (above all) really good value. The friendliness of the staff seemed to generate a relaxed and friendly response in the visitors too. Each morning at breakfast guests would greet each other and talk about their days. Only a short (10-15 mins) walk from the bus and railway stations, this feels like a family run hotel. Despite being in the "off season" it was warm (in both senses of the word) and welcoming. I mustn't forget mentioning the breakfast (included in the cost of the room) that was a treat each morning. The Sunday carvery was also great, with the widest variety of different vegetables I have seen for quite a while. Thank you for pleasurable stay.

"The coldest night ever at a hotel"

2.0

Don't go in winter, the rooms are cold as they don't switch the central heating on for your entire stay. They only switch on if you ask and only for a couple of hours. Even worse the windows in room 1 don't shut properly and you have a huge draft coming in. You book a room at the firs floor on the web site but then when you are there they give you what they have available. People, possible staff, smoke in the building and I could smell sigarette in my room.

"Fabulous Sunday Carvery"

8.0

Booked for Sunday carvery, arrived early and a lovely, polite young lady showed us to our table. We all chose to have the carvery, 4 meats, you could have all 4, roast beef, roast pork, turkey and gammon. The selection of vegetables were fabulous. So many choices, all cooked and tasted amazing. You could fill up on veg as many times as you wanted. There was a good choice of sweets, but after the plentiful dinner we decided not to try, although the Raspberry Pavlova on the table opposite looked to die for!!! We are on holiday in the surrounding area and will be sure to add our Sunday dinner experience in the accommodation guest review book and will be sure to return when next here on holiday.

"Pizza and a pint in the sun!"

10.0

Stopped here as we had parked opposite. Sitting outside in the sun what more could you ask for. We had drinks and also ordered a pizza, which was absolutely delicious! Freshly baked and toppings were lovely. Great atmosphere and staff were very friendly.

"You won’t be disappointed."

10.0

Called in for a pint and decided to have something to eat. All I can say is wow!….we all chose to have burgers and chips, definitely home made and tasted awesome, don’t usually bother, but I had to compliment the chef for the food. If you passing and fancy a bite to eat, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
