Kalimna Woods Cottages

Really quaint cottages. Great for overseas travellers if you want to a bush stay but still close to the coast. Handy to the Kalimna Hotel and a very short drive into town.

There were mice living inside . Mould on walls . No firewood you had to buy it. No matches supplied. For the amount that was paid I would of expected more

When i booked in april i selected the option to pay upon arrival. There wasn't anyone at reception except a camera , I spoke with the owner via this camera they were wanting me to pay via an email link , I wasn't comfortable with that due to the recent booking.com data leaks. A woman arrived shortly after and I paid via efpos, I was then sent the access code for the room. Inside the room was dated , dirty and dusty. There were an abundance of stickers and signs on the walls throughout the cabin and on the toilet for some reason. The TV only had 5 channels and the couch was very hard and small im 5,2 and my partner is 6,3 so no cuddling up on the couch. We didnt use the wood stove as we didn't bring any wood or firelighters and I wasn't paying 15$. I feel the wood should have been included as the cabin for the night wasn't cheap. $250 The one smoke alarm was not functioning, which is dangerous and most likely illegal as there is a kitchenette and a wood stove inside and we are surrounded by bushland. There were bugs and spiders in the numerous cobwebs inside. The split system was new and did a good job of keeping the cabin warm. The bed was comfortable but there was only one blanket and my partners legs were hanging out the end , a spare blanket would be handy. At night we were woken up by the infamous barking dog multiple times , from the other reviews I have read this is the owners dog? , very unprofessional having a barking animal disturb your guests. Out of the owners control but we also awoke to loud vehicles and at one point a gunshot and or a vehicle backfiring? , there is a hotel and pub not far away and a jetty down the hill. I was very disappointed as i had always heard good things about the wood cottages.. that seems to have changed. I would not stay again , overpriced, rundown and dirty I was glad to leave , which is a pity the place has such potential to be something really special.

It was a little complicated to obtain code as misunderstanding and did not speak to anyone face to face but over an intercom service, which was a little impersonal. I was not able to access email and had to ask for code to be sent to my phone.

no person to person contact. Kitchen was not equipped well enough and not very clean. Not enough plates, pots or cutlery. No cooktop except for an electric hotplate, which did not work.

Talked to someone on an intercom system. Difficult to people hard of hearing.

Loved the property and location. The bath was a lovely treat!

We wanted to use the fire place but there was no wood.
