The George Country Inn, Wath

Room was excellent, and had a quiet nights sleep. Staff were all very helpful, food was excellent and location was good, very much deserves its 5 star reviews!

Spotlessly clean, quiet room and beautifully decorated. Radek made us very welcome. Good breakfast. We would stay again.

We stayed Monday night and the bar was closed. No choice as we'd been to evening horse racing at Ripon. We would stay again on a different night when the bar is open and enjoy the comfortable surroundings.

We had a lovely stay at the George Country Inn. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room which was cosy but had everything we needed for the night. Comfy bed, good products and shower. We had dinner there which comes from a wide menu. The chef is very good and even the small plates are large. The food was of a very high quality. This was also true at breakfast. Wath is a lovley village to stroll round before dinner and the pub is a very friendly place to pass an evening. If you are in the area, I would be surprised if you found anywhere as nice.

I think the wines were just slightly overpriced.

We stopped for an overnight stay on way home south Unfortunately I was ill that evening with a back infection that made me bedridden for days before getting into hospital. The hotel and staff were wonderful in making us comfortable. We have seldom met so many kind people
