GBGBLovely central location in Rothbury. Large bar areas with a lively atmosphere until late. Super friendly staff member on arrival and throughout evening. Large comfortable bed. Breakfast was beautiful, cooked well and plentiful with fantastic ingredients. Sausages and bacon were high quality. A good yet simple selection for continental and an amazing cheese scone!!
The hotel areas feel somewhat run down decor wise, however this feels to be reflected in the cost. Check in wasn’t very informative as the lovely lady on reception was running both check ins and busy bars and the manager was unavailable. We weren’t provided with info on meal availability or times, which led to us not eating dinner here as we didn’t think it was being served. We did hear from someone else late in the evening however, that the steak was really good. I would have liked to have had the option to refill drinks during breakfast as it was hard to catch the one gentleman serving during the 30 minute wait for our food, we felt limited having to ask for a coffee and then a glass of water.

Closed on mondays doesn't open till 4pm on Tuesdays no food cooked until Wednesday-sunday Although on website it doesn't state any of this and it states it has steak house which is not the case anymore website needs updated . We arrived at 2pm on tuesday-thursday for our few days away and there was nobody to greet us all closed up another couple also turned up to be in . By chance i went to shop next door and she got in touch with manager via FB who then rang and cleaner came and answered door as nobody was answering phone she said we were lucky as she was just about to leave and we were waiting at front doors and she was leaving by side door . This has went really down hill since we stayed here 4 years ago which is a shame as it was a really nice pub staff were friendly

GBThe staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent room rates and the Northumbrian breakfast is highly recommended. The rooms are a great standard and the snug area is a great place to chill.

GBGBSited in an ideal location to explore the Coquet valley and the Nearby 'Cragside' estate. Being a pub in the centre of town it was remarkably quiet. Close to the river Coquet with a lovely riverside walk. A great choice for breakfasts. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms weren't refreshed each day. It doesn't have its own car park so parking is on street, there IS plenty of parking locally but it can be hit and miss as to how close you can park.
