Derrick Motel

I have to say this is by far the most run down, poorly kept, filthy motel I have ever seen. My boyfriend and I are staying in Edmonton for the weekend and ended up staying here because EVERY other hotel was booked. So after dealing with the sketchy service at the front desk we enter our room to find that it clearly haven't been cleaned since the person before us. There is ash all over the floor, on both of the bed side tables, all over the floor and the toilet seat (ew) and last, INSIDE the bed. I went to front desk to ask if we could have our room cleaned. He proceeded to tells the room already has been cleaned but he'll send someone anyway.... A mafia looking man from one of the rooms upstairs comes down with clean sheets, places them ontop of the ashes and garbage on the bedside table and continues to make the bed. Gross. He closed the toilet seat and did not clean any ash residue. We spend the night feeling dirty as hell to even be breathing the air in this room. Outside there are people drinking and smoking very loudly. The cops show up at some point for some reason. Sketchy. Apparently there is a strip club next door. This place is f*****d up and I would highly recommend never ever coming here. We made a mistake for sure.

Not a very exciting place but we needed a place to stay while travelling through Edmonton at night. We checked in at 2 am, no issues... Room was clean (which is not always the case with motels) and the place was quiet. We got a good night sleep and were out in the morning. It had the basic amenities and the front desk guy was a friendly old man. I would stay here again... for the price.

I really liked the staff, the guy cared, asked us all the time if he could do something for us and if it was everything okay, the room itself was quite small but suffiecient for overnight stay, rooms were clean and it was really cheap, so i would totally stay here again

Nothing too fancy but good value for the price. Room was clean and had all the basics - fridge, microwave, iron, etc. Location was the biggest plus - right on Whitemud Drive and Highway 2 intersection. Service was okay but as expected for a budget motel.

This was the worst motel I've ever stayed at. The room smelled like cigarettes and old food, even though it was a non-smoking room. The curtains were tattered and full of holes. You could see into the room from the balcony. The lampshade and sheets were stained. The tub made noise. Something else was making a loud scratchy noise all night. The walls and floors were dirty. The room was hot - there was one window without a screen, but with it opened you could hear everything outside. The hotel is right on a busy road and the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything the people in the room next door were saying, people coughing, burping, yelling traffic, everything. I booked the room for two nights but could only stay for one. Do not stay here.

The room was clean and the front desk guy was friendly. Room decor was a bit dated but functional. Best thing was location, I was in town for work and could get around town pretty easily. I would stay again.
