One of the best value for the money places in PNG for sure. Although this is not like a fancy resort, it is indeed a place that felt like a nice oasis in a country were hotel facilities services tend to be below average. Food was fine and the ambiance was equally so on the seaside.

this time I stayed in a budget room with out attached bathroom and shower but I also know the other rooms which are very comfortable. Remember PNG is an expensive country and compared to other hotels the Madang Lodge has a good price and service relation.
The hotel was great,however,a very long, hot walk to town.Hotel transport to town was expensive,so checked out to stay at resort in town.We found being at the resort more convient with optional trips available.
The good - location, friendly staff, hotel bus will take you to town for a small fee, and pick you up again later, airport transfers. Not so good - restaurant has limited choices, but lovely position near the water; no hairdryer, shampoo, tissues in bathroom, overpriced

transport can be challenging (PMV's) open trucks or well worn vans.
We checked in and found our rooms. The room was warm an stuffy, but after we turned on the a/c and fan, the room turned out to be comfortable. The service at the restaurant was rather slow.
Very relaxing atmosphere. Room overlooked the sea and was very comfortable and relaxing. Gardens were beautifully kept and when orchids are in bloom will be a treat.
Top quality service from staff. Very caring and kind.
