Verandahs

We were very pleased with our accommodations at Verandahs. Our one bedroom apartment provided plenty of space with laundry facilities and a bathroom that included two separate areas - one with toilet and sink and the other with sink and walkin shower. The kitchen was well equiped with everything we needed to cook meals - plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pans and glassware - and was spotlessly clean. The one item missing for me was a regular coffeemaker. Otherwise, perfect. We were able to grill on the balcony with the electric barbeque and enjoyed the use of the swimming pool. Michele and Sue were very accommodating and helpful. Verandahs is very centrally located and an easy, quick walk to all activities in Port Douglas.

Our dated 2 bedroom road view apartment above the entrance to the car park was very, very noisy. All apartments come off a central stairwell so prepare to hear every door slam and conversation bouncing around the stairwell. Also be aware there are 2 backpacker hostels a short distance away and noise from their parties and live music easily reached our apartment. Our apartment overlooked neighbouring motel, so no privacy (for them or us).

Convenient one minute walk to the Main Street. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and airy. Beds were extremely comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. All amenities you’d want for a stay in the tropics. View of the pool from the verandah. Shady comfortable loungers by the pool. Helpful staff who recommended excellent tours. Wholeheartedly recommend it.

Very pleasant, good friendly reception staff. We loved the warm weather and easy walks to anywhere we wanted to go. Plenty of parking on site, unit cleaned and towels changed mid week. It was all we wanted.

We had a two bedroom apartment with two full baths which were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved having breakfast on the balcony. Verandahs is in an excellent location in Port Douglas - close to restaurants, a short walk to the beach as well as a short walk to the marina for trips to the reef. The best part, however, about Verandahs is Sue, the owner, who takes such good care of her guests. She took the stress out of activity booking as she called around for availability and booked a full day snorkel trip for us. Sue also was a huge help to us with reaching out to a Sydney Airbnb owner as we didn’t have international cell service. We’d been making a lot of our own plans while traveling in Australia and found it so nice to have Sue’s assistance and guidance with activities in the Port Douglas area. We had a great stay - just too short. Thanks so much, Sue!

Verandahs was exactly what we were hoping for our family holiday- a lovely spacious apartment, easy walking distance to both the Main Street and beach. Kids loved the pool. Owners were very helpful in helping to arrange late check in and sightseeing. Highly recommend and would stay again.

We enjoyed our time here. The host were very welcoming and knowledgeable and gave good advice on where to eat and excursions to do. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, spacious and well designed. Perfect location - easy walking distance to the local restaurants and shopping and also the beach.
