The Tunbridge Wells Hotel

The location of the hotel is unbeatable, it is so convenient and easy to get to from the train station or driving. The staff were really nice and friendly and had set up a fan to help with the heat. The rooms come with a well stocked Nespresso machine and bottled water which is a nice touch for the price

It was a bit tired and needs some attention to detail and maintenance. There were cobwebs and dust on the surfaces of the room and it needed a good hoover. Window wouldn’t stay open which was unfortunate in the heat. There was also a bright light in the corridor on all night (understand this is for safety) shining through where the door didn’t meet the wall and floor.

We were given rooms on the 5th floor with no lift, we were told we had to carry our luggage up the 5 floors with no assistance. Not sure why as the hotel had many rooms available on lower floors I also turned back the bed clothes in the morning when leaving the room and found a pair of dirty men’s socks in the bed. I told the manager and he said he would let housekeeping know… a bit late for that

Very dusty in the property. Unfortunately finding parking and getting there was confusing.

A very good location for the weekend. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Free, tea, coffee and a bottle of water are available in the room. A sizeable TV was available and the WIFI was very good

Unfortunately the standards aren't quite up to what you are paying for. A lot of the room and bathroom was very dusty, a lot of the tiling, sinks etc were dirty and clearly hasn't been cleaned to a good standard in a while. A few maintenance issues especially with light fittings looking unfinished, paint flaking off the ceiling are a couple of examples that I picked up Not an ideal stay in hot weather but that's not really the properties fault. A fan was provided though. I think for the money I paid for the 2 nights stay doesn't represent value for money which is a shame as the staff were very accommodating and welcoming.
