Seashell Resort Koh Tao

Good location 10 second walk to the beach, good dive shop attached to the hotel.

Bathroom was not clean when I arrived and was not cleaned once during my 3 night stay. Sometimes toilet roll ran out and wasn’t replaced the next day. No curtains on the beds. When it rains hard the roof of the bathroom leaks A LOT this was worrying as the rain water was dripping into the light fitting.

The pool.

Showers had no hot water, wifi and data did not work in rooms, bathrooms never cleaned, bunk beds very hard with bad mattresses, no lockers, no lock for the room, staff not helpful. Overpriced.

We stayed for 2 nights and initially when checking in we were happy that they allowed us in early. However.. We could not find the complimentary van upon arrival at the quay so had to walk. The room we were allocated was dark and dingy with hardly any natural like, and as it was near the main road, noisy. There was no hot water. The common areas were unkept, scruffy, and in the case of the decking around the pool, broken and dangerous (you wouldn't let children anywhere near it. The food was very average and the staff unfriendly, unhelpful and disinterested. In my experience of staying in hotels, when a place is so poor, its usually down to the lack of investment by the owners and senior management both to the infrastructure and its staff

We were at the back of the resort. A dark room. Cold shower. TV from the 70s. Bed so hard and the pillows. The advertising picture are of a small block near the beach however you are not offered these rooms. The swimming pool has a lot of boards up which could be dangerous. A very dated hotel that needs some serious investment to o bring it up to scratch. Won't return until then

we originally booked for 4 nights, but we couldn't stay for the first night. we tried several times to contact the hotel to explain that we would not be there for the first night but still would be there for the remaining three nights - they ignored our emails. when we requested a change to the dates through booking.com the hotel refused to accept a change to our booking. in the end we had to cancel the original booking and rebook for three nights paying in full. The hotel has kept half of our original booking payment – THB 8376 / £185!!! we spoke to the hotel about this when we were there and they promised that they would sort it out, but they have not!!! Location is good, breakfast is ok. The pool area is dangerous with the decking not level - see photos. The main pool was ok, but the others were dirty.
