Henann Resort Alona Beach

Probably the best hotel on Alona Beach. Great food at the buffets and most rooms on the ground floor have direct pool access from the hotel room. A lot of kids so if you're looking for a more peaceful and quiet experience, get a room on the 2nd floor. We stayed in their Presidential Suite, which has two bedrooms, living room, great views and 'Executive Lounge Access' is included so it's can be a pretty good deal. The staff is very friendly and we always stay here when visiting Bohol.

Excellent stay. The atmosphere is calm and nice. The rooms high standards and the staff really nice and helpful. Food was really good specially in Christine’s restaurant. Very flexible to accommodate our needs as late check-out. We will come back soon!

Lovely resort with the highlight being Christina’s restaurant, the manager & all of his wonderful staff were amazing and the food was delicious. We stayed five nights and ate there 5 times! Breakfast staff were great at the 2nd floor however having to pay for espresso is a big negative and the one towel per person is another negative for us. Even when I asked for additional towels at reception I was told 2 persons 2 towels …lastly making us wait to check the room before leaving was annoying and we’ve NEVER been asked this ever over 20 countries we’ve visited. As I said lovely resort, great staff but would I stay here again ? Probably not.

My husband and I live in Ontario Canada. He was born in The Philippines but moved to Canada when he was 10. He's been trying to reconnect with his culture and we said what better way to celebrate our Honeymoon by doing it in The Philippines! Bohol was one of our first stops in our honeymoon trip. We spent a week here, Feb 10, 2026 to Feb 17, 2026. He have done a lot of research regarding resorts in Bohol and finally landed with Henann Alona. Upon arriving at the resort we were greeted by one of the concierge representatives who then went to the back office and called the Guest Relations Manager. The GR Manager's name was Marj, and we could not be more grateful for the hospitality that she provided us during our stay. She spent some time with us in the lobby highlighting the amenities of the resort. Our stay also fell into the week of Chinese New Year and Marj also arranged for us to have dinner at the beach along with all the guests of the hotel. There was a lot of food, singing, even a fire dance performance! On the day of, she did a house call to let us know that she had made a reservation for us so we did not have to wait in line to get into the Chinese NY dinner event. When we arrived at the event, she greeted us at the entrance and accompanied us to our table. It was such a fun night. The resort is amazing. multiple pools, even one that is for guests 16 and older if you want a quieter section. The beach is open to the public, although there is a barrier that cuts the resort off from the rest of the public which allows for a more private feel. There are security guards at the barriers that make sure only Henann guests are entering the resorts. They ask you for your room number before allowing you in if you are coming from the public area of the resort. We ate at Christina's and also at the Sea Breeze Cafe. We preferred the Sea Breeze Cafe as it was outside and right by the ocean. There was a DJ at times which made the area more lively. Christina's is also a nice restaurant, however it is indoor and slightly away from the beach. Another amenity we enjoyed a lot was the room service. We ordered room service multiple times and every single time the food was hot and looked amazing. After you were done, you just call the lobby and they send over one of their staff to pick up the dishes and there was never a time where we just had dirty dishes sitting in our room. The room service was very organized. We also wanted to highlight the Kai Spa, specifically MJ and Vanessa. We repeatedly asked for them for all our sessions as we did a total of 6 massages during our stay. It was so relaxing to have a day full of activities and then end your day with a nice massage before going to bed. We booked the Island Hopping Tour with Henann, Marj did go through the Tours with us and we ultimately chose the Island Hopping. The whole experience was amazing. They pick you up at 630am in an Air-Conditioned Van provided by the resort, then drop you off to the port which is about an 11 minute drive, then at the port you are greeted by the boatman and his spotter who then take you out into one of the traditional boats in The Philippines. This was a private tour and we enjoyed the fact that it was just my husband and I during the whole tour outside of the boatman and his spotter. We saw massive pods of dolphins, we saw sea turtles in Balicasag Island, and walked along a sand bar called Virgin Island. The best part about the tour for us is that it was only 6 hours. We were back at the resort just after 1pm and still had the whole day to enjoy. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Henann, thanks to Marj and her crew who were very accommodating throughout our entire stay.

Unfortunately our very expensive stay at the Henann was not very pleasant. I guess they tell the security to screen Filipinos. They don’t do it to Koreans, Europeans, etc. Multiple times my wife was stopped and asked what room she was staying in. When going to the pool she was stopped. However the worst part was when we were coming in late night and a guard thought she was a prostitute and said she needs to check in at the front desk. I won’t tell you my response but he walked away with his tail between his legs. He’s lucky I didn’t send him to the dentist. We will never stay at any of their properties again.

The best service I’ve experienced at a luxury resort hotel in the Philippines. The staff were warm and friendly without being intrusive and also professional. A shoutout to Harvey and Clark at the beachfront outdoor restaurant and Edrian at the buffet breakfast. The next day he knew I liked my decaf coffee and warm water for the table. Kudos for an excellent waitstaff throughout. Great training and keep up the good work!

Well you won’t be disappointed if you choose to stay at Henann Alona Beach. We got collected from the ferry from Cebu and transported in a mini-van - no waiting straight in and bottle of water to have while we enjoyed the 30-40min trip to the resort. Reception was quick and efficient and as there was a bit of a line they sat us down with a lovely welcome drink and came to us when it was our turn. We were a little early so our room wasn’t quite ready so we enjoyed a drink at the beachfront bar while we waited. They sent a quick whatsapp message before our scheduled check in time to advise room was ready. We had initially booked a swim out room but before we left Aus upgraded to a Vila and wow are we pleased we did. Vila was amazing - beautiful decor, spotlessly clean, gorgeous pool and they even accommodated my request for Vila 4. The positives continued with a free mini bar in the room, access to the Henann lounge for all day snacks and drinks and between 5-7pm alcoholic drinks. Pinky came and introduced herself to us and was quite lovely. A surprise each night when we returned to have yummy pralines popped into the room for us to enjoy. The pools were beautiful and clean and staff everywhere were just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the lovely security staff at the Vila access gate were always so welcoming and friendly. (The gated Vila area gave you lots of privacy and made you feel a bit special). Breaky was great - we ate at Sea Breeze each morning and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We had one meal at the poolside cafe and the burger and fish were delicious. Everything (including drinks and cocktails ) were really reasonably priced. Also if you want to eat out of the resort you can walk back through the main entrance to the street where there are heaps of restaurants or out on the beachside to the right also lots of yummy places. We started organising our return trip even before we even left haha. So if you can stretch it just a little definitely do a Vila - absolutely worth every cent. If you were thinking of a swim out room I’d probably request one away from the pool bar as it did seem a bit noisy in that area. Thank you to all the lovely staff for a wonderful stay it was just amazing.

Absolutely fantastic hotel resort here in Bohol. Brought a day pass and the buffet lunch was fantastic! If I had anything to complain about it was the amount of drinking of glass bottles & Glasses allowed to be consumed in the actual pool and was shocked the hotel allows this. Also it would be nice with the amount of pools in the hotel if there was an adults only pool.

My experience is not the most pleasant! I chose to spend a week with my family in this resort and, I admit, I'm a little disappointed. I chose to rent two villas that didn't cost a little money, I expected everything to be 5 stars, but that's not the case. The villa is ok, but the location leaves something to be desired. I think the resort has 10 villas and hundreds of rooms, which is not the right thing, imagine that after paying a lot of money, especially for the Philippines, at breakfast you crowd with your plate in your hand to catch something, luckily the breakfast is very good! However, after you have hundreds of rooms of the resort, you still allow, for a fee, anyone from outside to enter the pool, that's ugly. You can't really enjoy anything because of the noise. Wherever you sit, you can hear a loud noise from the kitchen vents and, of course, the specific smell of burnt oil and Asian food. Even with the windows closed at the wila, you can still hear it. Horrible from this point of view. Anyway, don't be hungry after 11 at night because you don't get anything, room service doesn't work after that time. The mosquitoes are at home and eat you alive. Very friendly staff and good cuisine. Otherwise, it is not what it should be.
