"Beautiful facility, in a lovely unspoiled part of Costa Rica."

9.0

Breakfast was very good. Our room was clean and equipped with a fridge and a very nice private deck. Nice pool and lounge chairs, giving a view of the ocean. Good place to see the sunset. The grounds are beautiful. Short drive to Playa Ostional, Playa San Juanillo. Don't miss Playa Golondrina!

Front desk staff was a bit aloof. Not a complaint against the hotel, but be aware that the hotel is not withing walking distance of any beach, restaurant, store, etc. Also, not a complaint against the hotel, but roads in the area are very rough with large potholes.

"A peaceful location to while away a few days"

10.0

The location is stunning and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The gardens are lovely - hummingbirds, iguanas, coatis - and the views from the bungalows are beautiful. We stayed in the double bedroom for one night. The room was large, with excellent air conditioning and facilities. If staying for longer than one night then I recommend the bungalows, all of which have an outside terrace and seating with fantastic views. The hotel is remote. The restaurant on site was excellent for an evening meal; the breakfast was quite decadent.

It's a fairly minor point, but the wine selection for dinner was limited and did not reflect the quality of the food. More creativity with the wine list would elevate the restaurant experience.

"A hidden gem that I cannot wait to return to!"

10.0

This boutique hotel is a true hidden gem! It is lovingly family-run, with friendly service, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful lush grounds surrounded by nature. I spotted various birds and other small animals often in the garden and pool area, as well as from my bungalow terrace. I loved the fresh-air bathrooms. The breakfast and dinner were excellent.

"Boutique experience near Ostional"

8.0

The hotel is situated a little bit north of Ostional, which is a great location if you want to see the turtles. The Ostional beach itself is not the best, however, to hang out otherwise. You need to go either north to San Juanillo or south towards Guiones. Roads to both were sub-optimal when we traveled, although a bit better up north than south. The hotel itself is a beautiful oasis of calm. There are cottages as well as a room, and we had a room only, which was comfortable for the time we were there. We did note that the suite next to us had a kitchen and living area as did the other cottages. Great view from the dining area. Breakfasts are generous, if unvarying, affairs with a multi-course spread. The dinner was excellent and very tasty. The most excellent part of this resort is the staff. Sebastian is very generous and informative and we enjoyed visiting some of the places he suggested. In the evenings, Roberto is the bartender and is very dedicated and kind. Lizzie is a the main desk and helped us to book a horse-riding tour. There is a supermarket Rindemas not very far for those who might want to cook, and a cash machine (ATM) near the gas station in Nosara, as well as one down the road near the Mega Super Nosara on Calle Baltodano. Note that some of the tours only use cash.

The roads are quite bad in this part alternating between rocky to potholed. It gets pretty dusty at times. A coffee maker in the room would be very useful for the super early-risers! :) The restaurant menu could have some more variation if one is staying for a long time!
