would stay again. cheap and chic

We stayed at the Barcelo for 3 nights for our anniversary. We had never been to tenerife before. We chose the city location as it was a cheaper option and thought the hotel looked lovely. We hired a car from the airport for the 4 days which we recommend because you can get about really easily to the different beaches which was 20 euros a day. The hotel is a beautiful hotel and has 2 really nice restaurants. One of which did a 3 course set dinner with glass of wine for 12 euros each which was fantastic and the bar is open til 2 in the morning :-). There is a casino over the road and a beautiful park just a few metres up the road. Also visited restaurant a few doors up which was fab too. The closest beach to the hotel is about a 10 min drive called Playa de las Teresitas and was the best one we found in tenerife with nice soft sand. (All the other beaches had black sand). The hotel is within easy walking distance to the high street shops and to the sea. Service was good. Everything was sorted quickly. Room cleaned to high standard daily. Bed really comfortable!!! Only negatives were that the the mini bar was poor. It only had a bottle of wine in it and the air con didn't work. There was no tea and coffee facilities in our room which would have been nice. Also no iron. And there were no English Chanels on the TV. Other than that really good stay.

Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was good (though wasnt keen on the fruit juices). Buffet Dinner in restaurant was OK but not great. Evening meal in bar was much better!

Was a really nice hotel although location isn't amazing. It is relatively quiet and great for relaxing! Restaurants and bars a small walk away but good. Most staff were good, however their English is not great. Difficult to find out if food contains specific ingredients.... Only a small matter of life and death! Pool area is relaxing and quiet. Jacuzzi closed with no warning on website or at time of booking. Overall a nice hotel and room was good value for money and modern.

The hotel needs renovation. Broken air conditioning. Very noisy surroundings

clean, modern, nicely-designed, new interior, excellent breakfast buffet, good location, no convenient parking; closest lot is 2 blocks away for 15 Euros and no in/out privileges. room was very small

This hotel was very clean and easy for the cab driver to find. Restaurant was very good as were the staff. It's very easy to get around downtown Santa Cruz from this location.

We enjoyed staying here, the park next door was beautiful. The hotel staff were very friendly. Basic room but very comfortable.The food at the hotel was excellent and so was the breakfast.

It was a short and sweet stay at the hotel, we were flying to Bilbao the next day from the north so this was good for us. The hotel is very nice and very modern. They gave us a twins instead of a double, I don't think they read the requests of the room. The surrounding area had some nice restaurants near by and there was also a lovely park next to the hotel too. We were not there for long but did enjoy the time.

The reception staff were helpful, even when we found that taking a shower had caused our bathroom to flood! We had to ask to be moved rooms. Although the room decor is modern, it wasn't the best idea to lay wooden floors in a hotel were the walls are so thin. Every sound can be heard, we found this out thanks to our neighbours nocturnal activities. The windows also failed to keep out the road noise, which included road works at 03:00! The hotel was keep though and had a bar were meals/snacks were served. The sun terrace and pool were a pleasant bonus. The park is close by and city centre is only a ten minute walk away, but the hotel is on a very busy road.
