Hakuba Onsen Ryokan Shirouma-so

Wonderful staff, meals and room. Would highly recommend staying here to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Hakuba.

Mix between traditional style and onsen hotel. Onsen open at select times, so ask for those hours. Room is large and comfortable, probably can fit about 3-4 people if asked. Dinner/breakfast is extra cost, so ask before what it is. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It was mix of Japanese style and Western style. Staff was very forgiving of American inquiries.

We were made to feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Exceptional service, warm hospitality and wonderful dinners and breakfasts. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. This place comes highly recommended.

We went to Hakuba on a skiing holiday and wanted to experience the local culture as well. So we decided to stay in a Ryokan. Great choice. If you want the total Japanese experience this is the place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

A nice cozy hotel in the center of Hukuba town. Shuttle bus near by to connect to verious ski base station. 8-10 minutes walk to the Gondola and lift at Hakuba-One ski area. Good onsen facility in the hotel. Very friendly staff, Family run business.

Our rooms were large with a beautiful view (we specified mountain view). The staff were very helpful, and went above and beyond. It was my partner's birthday while at staying their, and, after only a brief whispered exchange, a delicious personalised cake was awaiting him in our rooms after dinner. Short walk from the slopes and right near bars and restaurants. Would definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who would like a taste of traditional Japan while staying in Hakuba.

My daughter and I stayed at Shirouma-so for 5 days in January for a ski trip. We decided to stay in a Ryokan to have a complete Japanese experience. We were not disappointed!! Toshi and the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The room was exactly what we wanted in terms of traditional Japanese experience. The traditional breakfast was delicious. Overall, cannot fault our stay at all. It was superb!!

Spend 7 nights at the Japanese Hotel and it was a very nice stay. I came with my daughter and thought the service was excellent and the breakfasts also excellent. My daughter did not like the beds (traditional Japanese) as she thought they were too hard. Otherwise difficult to find any problems.

Personlig service i form av taxi och restaurangbeställning. Missa inte deras middag och frukost.

The staff were amazing, they drive us to and from dinner and took us to the station at the end if the stay. The breakfast was amazing, so many dishes, home made Japanese style food. The room was very clean and they set up our futons for us. They reserved a restaurant for us and gave us complimentary champagne and private access to their onsen. I would definitely stay there again!
